Honestly imo the PvE is pretty fun. I like figuring out different synergies and seeing how they play out. I guess we will see down the road how it holds up for F2P people but at the very least it’s something different to play other than standard and BG which have gotten stale to me at the moment.

Pleasantly surprised by mercs so far, at least with the pve side of things.

Also about speed, ties on your own team are resolved by the order you cast them.

Mutanus, Morgl, and Brukan are doing me really well in PvE. If you're able to get the monstrous heart for Mutanus, he becomes the taunt king. Monstrous heart states "Set this characters health to 3. This character can only take 1 damage at a time." Then you use his second ability to gain taunt and reduce damage by one and you'll no longer take any damage with him.

PVP does need more information. Normaly in PVE you can see the moves the enemys will do which allows you to plan your moves but in PVP if you do not know every character by hard it is just not possible to plan your move at all. The only thing you can do is to try to pull some combo off and than it is just a gamble it may work may not but it does not feel like you can control anything

I'm still picking away at the intro missions, but it seems like there's a lot of potential for fun. Not sure if it will replace Standard HS as my main game mode though.

The synergies I've been using are Millhouse and the blue fox, and having a trio of murlocs. Also, it's fun having King Krush when enemies are low, where Apex Predator keeps proccing and it's just going RAWR and systematically killing everything. :D

I like how you haven't leveled up a lot of mercenaries, gives an image of how the beginner's collection could look.

it's pretty cool i run the millhouse/Tyrande/Cariel from the beginning even before i saw this video (started the game yesterday. that is indeed a strong combo :)

tyrande plus mihouse blew my mind when i first realized the potential ... and alongside the pve bonus arcane dmg and his own arcane buff i managed to reach hits of 15/17 ... thats clearing bosses turn 1

Ive been running an all human team with Varian, Tirion, and Anduin that's been working out really all for me. You just use Tirion and Anduin to keep Varian alive and he just buffs your attack and speed. Also divine shield is pretty incredible

Nature / Arcane may be an okay combo especially when Tyrande unlocks the equippable to affect both. Anacondra has small synergies with Blink Fox and both Guff and Blink Fox can both use their combo attacks with faster characters on the bench like Malfurion and Millhouse. I wanted Bru'kan in there too but can't justify a 4th caster and he doesn't synergise well although he is strong.

I like the PVE so far. I didn't pre-order and am enjoying unlocking all the stuff.

Imagine getting coop raids at sole point with a group of friends defeating a large wave of enemies and a boss. Maybe even adding some drop chance to the bosses, like the card itself or a portrait

Xyrella, Cairne, and Velen synergise incredibly well. Velen can do like minimum 60 damage every two turns consistently

Guff, Lady Anacondra and Bru'Kan have been godly for me. They all support each other, especially when any of them get the "Tauren, Troll & Elf" bonus, with Nature Damage +X I don't have all those other Nature dudes, but I imagine they work even better. Nature be stronk.

Yeah, man. Mercenaries is hella fun. I didn't realized it had so many synergies, though. I was just putting my best guys in. I'll look into synergies now.

I'm working on leveling a couple characters to try out, but I'm really interested in trying a combination with the Lich King and Varden Dawngrasp; taunting up on LK to freeze enemies and then using Varden's Ice Lane to nuke them down once they're already frozen. In addition, both units have speed slowing abilities to use against the opposing team to make sure you're always up first in combat phases and LK has a healing ability that is pretty significant as well.

I'm running Grommash, Malfurion, Rokara, Samuro, Millhouse, Blink Fox at the moment and it is ridiculous. It's a Samuro comp more than anything, everyone can either trigger his double strike or buff him in some way except Blink Fox, which is here as a nuke. 44 damage to any protector every turn between Millhouse and Fox is great, and Samuro gets to hit somebody 2 times (4 if he's found a Windfury passive) for a ton more damage

I'm surprised you are not running Blink Fox in the arcane team, since It gives you the chance to do the combo you cited 2 Times in a Row, while also benefiting from arcane skills itself. My goTo team for now Is Murlocs, Always loved the mrgl Guys, and they are surprisingly strong too!

My favourite synergy is jaraxxus demons making you cast fist lots of times :D

I don’t know if you have Alexstrasa but I packed her she’s pretty good in any fire deck, I would recommend her over Cariel in your deck for sure. But I just wish there were more dragons so her synergies could really be useful.

Got an Item on Bru'Kan that had him cast his lightning twice. And it benefitted from the spell damage. So it was 8+11 damage the first round. 14+17 the second... 20+23 the third.... it was broken as hell.

I can confirm that Brukans nature spell damage stacks. If you can cast lightning bolt twice and stay alive, this nature party wrecks serious havoc. I don't have Brightwing, but I use both Roame's for protection/healing

Created my very own "Suicide Squad" group which has been pretty good thus far. Managed to only lose once (got cocky with my path of choice) and at lvl 25 in Felwood; most of my team are level 28 thus far. It consists of: Guff, Velen, Malfurion, Tavish, Tyrande, and Geddon. I've thought of replacing Geddon for another and based on this video, I'm tempted to throw in Millhouse to see how that Arcane stacking goes. Hope everyone else is having a great time playing this mode!

It’s crazy as content creators we have to put out videos on any new mode to do with the game we are playing. But to be honest I absolutely love this mode I hope those of you that do please continue to play it, it is so fun and yes repetitive but such a great payoff.

Why is there no Fox in Arcane synergy? I think fox is very effective itself. Although, its third equipment is just unbalanced.

Ufff and there meny more, my first pvp was vs a bot no player team found...but the game have a lot of synergy's; you can change xyrella for Saurfan he can trigger with his A2 samuro (Garrosh with the A3). Just a tease stomp comp; TC,D,B...

I've thought of pretty much all of the basic synergies but the only two decks I've focused on so far which even I admit are not great, is a fel/demon combo and a murloc/dragon combo. My Dragon Murloc combo is 1R / 3G / 2B with Mutanus, Murk-Eye, Morgl, Voone, Brightwing and Alexstrasza. The Murloc's can work fine once they get set up and going with self buffs, a decent taunt and extra minion summons which Mutanus can use to devour. The biggest flaw with murloc/dragon is when one of the front minions dies it's awkward to bring in a reserve that doesn't specifically combo with the other set. Alex needs another dragon on board for a powerful ability, so if Brightwing dies by turn 2 Voone's ability to bring out a dragon is usually too slow for a turn 2 setup. My Fel/Demon combo is 2R / 2G / 2B with Mannoroth, Jaraxxus, Rathorian, Diablo, Gul'dan and Tamsin. Tamsin feels like the odd one out but she does summon a demon and has an ability where she summons a demon when she dies. She synergises with Gul'dan's Shadow heal and summoning demons helps with various other demon synergies. Jaraxxus and Rathorian can also summon Demons. Gul'dan gets great fel synergies from this comp too, and in my opinion Diablo is the one with the least synergies but he's just so strong and benefits from the HP buff from Mannoroth so it works out just fine. I think probably the best synergies would rely on generic support/tanks that fill the role for any team. I feel like I'm one of the only players not using Xyrella, Samuro and Thrall but the game's been out what? 2 days? I'm already sick of seeing them.

I have a demon team with jarraxus and the other demons and gul'dan/tansin, it's not the best but it's cool

I must admit i have been enjoying this way more than i expected at first. Playing around with the teams and synergies has been extremely fun. I'm just worried that it will be just be a money pump especially since it shares the gold with the normal hearthstone system

I really love this mode I know everyone is hating, I made one called orcs and a heal first and it’s been the best on PvP, basically Xyrella for a great heals, Grom tank. And 4 orc fighters Sammy, Saurfang, RoKara and Rex

I've been obsessed with trying to find a good balance between colours, usually 2/2/2 or at worst 3/1/2, but the more I think about it, how bad would going 3/3/0 actually be? You cover your own weakness with a decent spread of the other colours. Say the opponent has 3 blue and you're like oh shit I have 3 red that are weak to blue, you also have 3 green which are strong against blue. I guess it just depends how you set your team up, but generally focusing something down first is better than trying to spread out damage between all opponents. The only way you'd get punished is if your opponent did something crazy like load up 6 reds and you had 3x red 3x green, half your team would be weak, the other half would gain no bonus and you wouldn't have any type advantage at all. That would be a big punish, but what are the odds?

Murlocs/nature has been nuts in pve. Old Murk Eye can be insane.

I don't have any of these legendary and epic minions to even try these synergies out; I barely have enough gold to save for the next expansion let alone this. Additionally, the grind is not worth the time invested and the ui/animation speed is really slow. its a pass for me.

Cariel, Xerella, Samuro team of 3 wiped out many team of 6 from my PvP experience.

Came back to Hearthstone after 1 year to check out the new game mode. I played for a few hours yesterday and finished the first PvE chapter. Honestly, I find this pretty boring. My collection is still small, of course. I have 18 mercs, but still use 5 I had in the beginning. Leveling up the other ones seems pointless and tedious because their abilities seem pretty useless and don't have any synergies. Maybe when you have a bigger collection there is more variety and strategy, but I find it very boring to fight the same bots with the same 6 mercs over and over again. It's just the exact same fight over and over again. You just use the same two combos your team is capable of, depending on which group of enemies you face and that's it… Not much variety for a new player and not a lot of fun.

If the two abilities are the same speed on your team, they resolve left to right. So you can put Tyrande on a team with the blink fox, shoot the two arrows for arcane damage then have the fox arcane blast someone for the combo.

I think Bru'kan need to stay alive or the rest of the party lose the +nature damage.

Your arcane plan is flawed, it has a wait of two turns for the greater arcane, using her ability to trigger an AOE would be more effective then other such.

It's a shame meta is going to ruin the shit out of this mode in the next couple of weeks. Everyone will just be running the best party.

Such a good game mode with a terrible monetization that you eventually find out.

I’m kind of at a loss at the point of this game mode, I feel they injected it into the wrong game, perhaps they should have implemented it into either WoW or Heroes of the Storm where there are beautiful full 3D models to utilise. It just feels like a missed opportunity in a card game., lack lustre.
