That's not it. He said the power responds to his feelings, the stronger they are, the stronger the power. If he tries to use it in anger, the power rises beyond control. So when Deku concerned over his issues with control, decided he isn't ready for that particular quirk, it responded in kind, locking itself out. Just wait for the future episodes, you'll see.

Weirdly enough, this is kinda like how sonic’s chaos energy works. Chaos is fueled by emotions. In the Sonic movie we see how Sonic’s serious emotions can trigger his hidden power. No doubt Izuku is experiencing something similar.

The quirk works best when he's angry. He's tolerated his asshole childhood friend for years so Kacchan edging him on won't work. Get someone (monoma) to insult his friend's hard work and efforts and black whip will show up for sure 🤣

So here's what I'm not sure gets mentioned enough. When Eri rewound time in his body it accelerated the development of the quirk. Thats what overhaul said is Eri's true gift she can evolve quirks quickly and so well that it dangerous

@@shatterpoint23 He had to literally change how he accesses the power because of his often injured body. Rewinding it meant he could access and develop quicker. He is the one that will get to fully unlock OFA despite being the least physically capable. Eri helped...

All For One and One For All are Quirks that are super limited and ultimately destructive towards the enviroment of the user and also against the user's body. Getting both and being able to use it would stress Deku's teen,fresh body and it would really make him die earlier than expected due to the usage of his Quirks.

He cannot make quirks he can only steal quirks.. and I doubt that he stole a quirk that could make quirks because if he did wouldn't he have make himself get an immortal quirk? Search it up but basically OFA made up of two quirks: a quirk to pass on to others, which is what AFOs brother had, and a quirk that stockpile power, which is what AFO gave his brother

@@kirszza9700 Adding on to your thing, specifically AFO's brother had a quirk that allowed him to pass on his quirk but supposedly only with his permission and will behind it, which is why AFO can't just steal it.

If not, let me fill you in. One For All is a stockpiling quirk that can be passed down to another person. You can pass One For All down to someone who already has a quirk too, and the persons quirk will fuse into One For All. Black Whip is a past OFA user's quirk that fused into it and Deku is trying to learn how to control it.

i hate when they do episodes like this where the main character find out he has a new ability and doesn’t know how to use it but the original owner of the ability tells them somewhat how to use it and they still dont get it plus he nows the name of it black whip so why tf he not using it like a whip frustrating and if anyone replies to this that he just got it he needs time to work on it i understand that but wat about superman he unlocked his powers as he aged and stuff but even if he didnt know how to control them he could use them at anytime if you get wat im saying

It was well done imo. Ofa was never one quirk to begin with so I don't get the complaint. It's not that he can't use it, but more so a mental thing where he restricted himself of black whip cuz if you read the manga you'd know Ochaco got really hurt by it (in the anime was a bit censored) everyone else just got lucky it did not touch them. So now he is trying to use it in a more limited way (which he has only used the quirk like two times till that moment). What does Superman getting to use his power since start relate to Deku unable to use/control black whip?
