The reason the swords pierced midoriya was because asta used the pointed part of the swords plus force and speed. Think how bullets aren’t really sharp but with enough force and speed they can easily pierce through flesh, thank you for your time.

Even though his swords may be dull, it's still a blunt object going (likely) faster than light. If you're hit with something going that fast, it doesn't matter if it's sharp or not. It will end up crushing you.

*FYI Christine* According to the animator: Deku died airborne when his eyes fades to white after using 1,000,000% Smash. (18:01) So it doesn't matter if Asta's swords could stab him in the end, Deku was already dead and Asta simply shish kebab his corpse.

The swords pierced because going at such a force and speed, even If they are dull, it can still be stabbed through. Asta has also used his dull swords in the past for stabbing like against Vetto and Ladros. But Asta likes to use them as blunt weapons.

Long story short, death battle was kinda wrong. The swords have cut people and non-magical objects, he just needs to put in a bit more force since they're rusty, but make no mistake they do cut normal things.

One thing I gotta tell ya is that an inaccuracy that Death battle kinda ignored was saying anti- magic is useless against non magic now that is an untrue statement simply due to the fact that anti-magic has destructive feats against many non magical foes objects or weapons. Anti magic may not cancel out non magic things instantly but not canceling it out doesn't meant it doesn't exist it still is a type of energy and posses destructive capabilities such as things like black divider being able to destroy whole buildings despite the fact that buildings and such obviously aren't magic and asta being able to slice through the ground of an area with his infinite slash (anti magic version of yamis dimension slash) aswell as hid anti magic slash projectiles being able to cause damage to his enemies and the area he's in despite the enemies not having spells active there was also him using black divider to deflect some of zagreds non magical weapon projectiles if anti magic worked the way people assumed it did then the projectiles would break the anti extension of the sword or go through it. Basically saying that anti magic is more like Anti energy but gets the anti magic name imo since it specifically cancels out magic but still can do general damage to non magic enemies. Another one is them saying that he's powerless after his devil form wears off he's actually not he just loses the ability to turn into it for 30 minutes and is limited to his base power which is still pretty high aswell as still being able to use his techniques and anti magic spells. Overall DB made anti magic sound pretty useless but my description is how it actually works. They also made asta look dumb asf asta isn't the same iq as deku but his battle iq is actually pretty high seeing as his powers are more raw compared to deku making it so he has to think and use superior strategy during fights. Plus if we wanna talk about his swords being blunt asta used his anti magic to form a sharp end to his blunt blade to solve that problem and with that sharp edge active his greatsword was able to slice a whole village in half. Love the reaction just pointing out inaccuracies and how anti magic ACTUALLY works. Another thing is that asta was heavily lowballed considering he's stays in his devil forms after getting punched by way stronger foes than deku like lucifero

Like they said, the swords were merely blunted against non magical opponents, not magically prevented from cutting targets. Something like a piece of rebar or a wooden branch isn't inherently sharp either, but throw it hard enough or fall on it from high enough and it'll pierce better than a spear. With that in mind, the killing blow makes sense and isn't really something worth bringing up in the verdict, since it's fairly straightforward.

Asta realistically didnt need the sword he couldve best the f**k out of deku with both hands tied behind his back... It was simply an animation choice 💀

The sword is still heavy metal yes, they cancel magic but they're still swords cuts all the same even if they're blunt When they say they act like clubs when non magical folks, it just means that he doesn't kill them and the he's is the flat side of his blade the blades are still blunt, but it doesn't really matter All too much when it weighs as much as a small child.

The fact they say every sword aside from the demon slasher can't cut anything but magic. But those weapons stab deny and deal the killing blow. Keep the information straight.
