In Brazil, where we have the giant anteaters, we call them ‘tamanduá bandeira’, that could be translated to ‘flag anteater’. That is because of their huge tails, as if they looked like a flag because of how big they are!

Melanism occurs in both Jaguars and Leopards. 6% of Jaguars (Panthera Onca) are Melanistic and about 11% of Leopards (Panthera Pardus). It's just the increase in Dark pigment. Black Panthers refer to either a Jaguar or Leopard as they are the only big cats that melanism occurs. Edit: it's worth noting that unlike albinism and melanism in other animals its believed that the melanistic form is advantageous to Jagaurs and Leopards.

This Dlc is great I will not lie but I think it would be the perfect opportunity to have birds like the parrot, the toucan, harpy eagle, ... because in the Amazon, is one of the regions that has the most beautiful species of birds in color and plumage beautiful and varied

I already bought the DLC... why? It costs the same as a movie ticket, but provides hours and hours more time of entertainment. We also can't go to the movies, so there is that. I am watching this while the 7+ GB update downloads lol. Can't wait to play! Especially with the path updates and management changes!

Seeing the jaguars in action like this I can see the huge differences between them and leopards, since they originally looked very similar to me. Foe example their face shape and movement are completely different. (I see them irl not in the game for the confused ones)

Melanistic is the pronoun for melanism. Also technically all big cats are called panthers so all melanistic big cats are black panthers but when people say black panther they usually refer to jaguars or leopards. 🐆🐆🧡🖤

I think I read somewhere that black jaguars aren’t actually an inbred coloring. It’s actually normal just not as common. So try to breed normally and see if you get them without inbreeding. The jaguars genetics have the black in it already :)

A south american dome sounds awesome but it would be cool if you put the bairds tapir in there as well. Before this dlc it was the only mammal from south america so it would definitely fit in and it won’t feel left out ;(

They're most common in dense jungles, because melanism is actually a growing adaptation of many animals nowadays, because under the plants and shadows they will be very hard to see!

I'd love to see city based animals and for enrichment we could have mail box feeders or houses with a nest on the top for birds. And if birds are added as a pack then I'd like to see them (when given the materials) will creat their own nests in rocks or trees. It would be cute to see where they prefer to raise their chicks and it would make them so much cooler to watch. It might be a stretch but hey anyhting Is possible

The free update is good, the animals look amazing as always, but there is one major thing that confuses me. Why have a recolorable and a non recolorable version of the same item? I just don't get why they would make the extra work for themselves, it would better to just make one version and spend the extra time on something else.

Whilst I love Planet Zoo making homes for and looking after the animals I am not convinced that £7.99 for 4 animals and some scenery is value for money. Would have liked some new scenarios.

Hi, Lady, great video! Just one thing.. white tigers are not albinos, they are leucistic, witch is why they keep the stripes. I'm really excited to breed these variations. As I only play sandbox and career modes, it must take a while. The only one I got so far was a beautiful albino saltwater crocodile!

Yes you are right about the black panther...there isn't an animal actually called like that...its just used as a name for the black jaguar's

Id really love to see alternate patterns/coat colors for animals like the llama and other hoofed animals. I dunno why it just bugs me that all the llamas are white?

The short walkway can build before update today, its tricky, but placement a shop very short to the way and delete, you have the short way and the short stairs to. But im exited now its really easier.

So much good stuff in this pack in terms of build items (obvs the animals are cute too), but I am cackling at the bamboo pieces they added to irritate Silv 😂

Here in Mexico (I know it's not South America lol) we call Panthers any melanistic jaguar or leopard. So Black Panther is kinda redundant (here). I don't know how it goes for South American countries tho!

Besides graphic design, I'm more into The Sims because of architecture and interior design. Also, Planet Zoo doesn't work for Mac :'( But I so wish EA would give us this kind of creative freedom that Frontier - or at least the team behind Planet Zoo - gives its players. I love how there are non-recolourable objects and recolourable objects.

Actually I think panter is officially just another term for a leopard. But most people imagine a melanistic jaguar or leopard when they hear panter so it's not really wrong to call them that but not completely correct either as it could be either a jaguar or a leopard. Melanistic is just the opposite of albinisme instead of having no pigmentation, there is a lot of it (though you can still see the spots when the sun shines on their coats), this results in black animals.Jaguars or leopards are most known for it but theoretically any animal could be born with it.

Just wondering what your thoughts are with regards to Frontier's somewhat scummy bundle strategy on Steam? You can't buy the DLCs in bundles if you already own the base game, so it's actually more expensive if you've already bought into the game.

I am not getting it for now, since i am still waiting on two other continents being added to the game before i am gonna make my big push for the creation of my main zoo.
