And when I went in there, there was a piece of paper for me to read off of and when the priest or whatever he is started talking it sounded like he didn’t care and was rushing the whole thing. It didn’t feel genuine at all. I left thinking like what the heck was that? I felt nothing. And when I went to try and say the Hail Mary, I could not for the life of me remember how to pray it. I thought it was so weird because even if I hadn’t said it in a while I could still say it like I had been saying it everyday. BUT I COULDN’T REMEMBER IT AT ALL. After that day is when I started finding out how the Catholic Church deceives people and it makes me so mad and sad. I know I need to tell my parents but I am honestly nervous about it. I want them to know Jesus and have a relationship with him and be saved but I am so nervous for the backlash and stuff. I just don’t do conflicts very well 😫 the struggle to have faith and trust is very real 😓

This. Back when I was atheist this was one of my biggest questions - how do you repent? Christians always talked about repentance over and over but never actually explained what it is or HOW to do it. One time I asked a Christian "so how do you repent?" and he literally just said "all you do is just repent and God forgives your sins". I was like "oh okay" LOL like Christians need to be more aware that not everyone is coming from a baseline understanding of Christianity. We need to be patient and explain the practicalities of our practices.
