Absolutely beautiful car. And that sound is just......intoxicating. Delahaye 135S has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever built. One thing the French sure knew how to do in the 1920's and 1930's was build gorgeous automobiles. The fit and finish was just incomparable to vehicles built in other parts of the world. The French were truly on the forefront of automotive design and engineering, although they did take a lot of cues from vehicles built in the United States which was considered the pinnacle of automotive manufacturing with the likes of Ford, Dusenberg, and the hundreds of other small auto makers of the era. While most people know of the "big 3" auto makers from Detroit, most people don't realize that in the early 1900's, HUNDREDS of small company auto makers were in the United States. Sadly, most of them went defunct by the 50's. I think between this Delahaye 135S, the Peugeot 302 Darl'mat, and the Bugatti's of the era, there are no cars that can top them in beauty, function, and form. The french sporting cars just had it ALL. I loved the clip Jay Leno did talking about his own Delahaye 135S. He explained that of the various French automakers of that era, Delahaye essentially used a sort of rugged truck style motor in their sports cars which made them extremely reliable with tons of torque and ideal for racing as they could withstand the length of the race without hardly ever breaking down. They would out race the Bugatti's, Alfa's, and other racers of the day. The Delahaye 135 is one of the most beautiful sporting cars of all time in my opinion. You are a VERY fortunate person to actually own one. VERY VERY VERY fortunate indeed.
