Really modern cars even the elite ones will never have anything on the classics. All that individual class and beauty has really been sadly lost in today’s designs.

Nostalgia definitely shades our perceptions. There are some outstanding designs like the original Audi TT, the Lotus Elise, etc. On the road right now id be pressed to think of a great design but in 20 years people will appreciate it. Outside the hypercar territory it takes a step back to appreciate design. Like PT cruisers were an absolute bunch of shit boxes, but theyll get more credit than the newest porsche. Reliable is forgotten. Literally taking things for granted.

@@Awesnap My nostalgia for older cars is more to do with my 40 plus years building cars and bikes and practicability. With the Wuh@n Flu affecting everything including the car industry ie the shortage of chips and cars today being something that your average backyard mechanic shouldn’t ever even try to repair it’s only a matter of time before the whole system falls down. With maturity you’ll learn there’s far more than wasting mega bucks on a car and with car companies being the way they are good luck getting any sort of service when things go pear shaped when it comes to most brands nowadays. Living here in Australia if you want a new car based on the care that your dealer gives you Toyota, Subaru, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia and BMW are the way to go. Let’s be serious here for a moment how many people are going to waste money on a supercar or the like when you look at cost, the fact you could never really use it or the fact there are these things called speed limits? I love my cars and bikes but really what’s the point if you can’t use your pride and joy everyday or you shit yourself every time you drive it? And just so you know here in Australia the likes of Audis and Lotus or even Supercars are low volume sold cars and just so you know I own a pristine VF Holden SS Commodore Ute and a VZ Holden SS Commodore Ute as my knock around transport.

Be still, my heart. Every one of these vehicles could stand as its own art exhibit. Have to say that long, black number at ~2:49 really turns my key. Also, at ~4:49 another long, low number in black. And again at ~5:45 w/ the red and gold teardrop front clip. Just WOW!

3:15 - the only Delahaye here which actually looks French. It's a model 235 MS. The rest have an international design (apart from one or two Americans of a totally different make), but that doesn't justify replacing the "GFA" in the Delahaye emblem with "USA".

Some of them are over the top, taking the design job just a little bit too far to even be just frivolous, but some of them are extremely beautiful. I haven't checked yet wether each model is as it left the Delahaye factory or whether it was "boosted" (a dangerous word in Corona times) by coach builders to meet specific demands by wealthy but not necessarily tasteful owners. Each of them is "impressive", but "impressive" doesn't necessarily mean "elegant". German WW 2 Tiger tanks too are "impressive", so are some of these gigantic John Deere mini factories on huge wheels. Elegance is something else. I'm not really 100 % if elegance really is that subjective as some people always claim....

@BatMan-xr8gg2 жыл бұрын
Cost. Even back in the early 20th Century, these cars were more for the rich people. To get body panels that shape has to be done by hand, not machine. The labour costs alone would make the car unaffordable to the general public.

Are These "CARS", IMAGINED or ACTUAL (and if-so WHEN were They created ) ?? The Ones in the Photo with the Logo for example, could have been from the next BATMAN or MARVEL Movie ! Some times Transports have been compared to Animals: WHALES or "The Spruce Goose Aeroplane". They would leave Low-riders in the Dust ! If They could float on water ( or Hover ), they'd be similar to Cigar Boats...

Your are confused, Delahaye USA is a different company making high end hot rods and iterperations of French cars. Some of the work on their version of the Atlantic was done in NJ and they were asking $300k USD, not Euro's. Look at the photos those are not all original Delahayes

It's amazing all the nit pickers and negative types making comments here. This is why people get to hate classic car types. If there is a totally great classic, like a Hisso Or a Duesenberg and ONE part is not original, (never mind the 99%) that's ALL youll hear. Thats why people get to hate classic car effite types. The central fact is,, This is a major figure in the automotive world who, with a gifted staff,, have decided to bring back the greatness of classic French auto design, to bring that to renewed public notice AND offer a very valid product that any connoisseur can Purchase and drive away. This effort should be Soundly without reservation,, applauded.
