Each Star Wars movie crams a lot into its runtime, which means we unfortunately lose some scenes that would help develop characters or plot points. Some of the deleted scenes are interesting if ultimately unnecessary, like seeing some other Jedi get attention in Attack of the Clones, while others would have added more emotion to their respective films, like the scene from The Last Jedi that would have seen Luke Skywalker mourning a fallen friend. You can watch them all on the home media releases, so let’s take a look at a few deleted scenes that could have changed the entire Star Wars universe.

Rose was by far the worst character from Star Wars episode 8. Worse than even the bad portrayal of Luke Skywalker that could have been filmed better with better script which in this case scenario the biggest problem was not the actor Mark Hamill, but the script. Same is also true for Rose having terrible script as well that makes her worse than even Luke from that episode.

Bryan Ganz good point I think the prequels were mainly let down by the poorly written cringy dialogue I think the story was pretty decent and there were some cool characters the direction and dialogue were pretty bad tho

@@aamirrazak3467 Yes, the dialogue in the prequels makes the films seem worse than they actually are but they have substance and an interesting plot. In the sequels it's the opposite, the acting is probably their only saving grace although the dialogue is too contemporary for my taste, everything else is hollow and creatively bankrupt, they will age like bread.

Mads Mikkelsen I agree I have not felt that any of the new characters r compelling or interesting at all, also another empire v rebels scenario is not interesting to me, I was also really disappointed and upset w what they did to Luke’s character in VIII and that they haven’t really added anything to the lore, it would’ve been cooler to see Luke growing his new Jedi order instead imho

Its not all about effects, Laserbeams and Lightsabre sound; it is about, how to present your character (for example Rey vs Luke: Rey: Excels in everything (flying the Falcon better than Han, beating Kylo first time swinging her Lightsabre --> She is a Mary Sue Luke: Showed weak Force powers (Watch empire how he struggled in the Wampa cave to reach for his sword; and then struggling on Dagobah too). But he grew better and stronger with Return if the Jedi. He earned his powers by learning from his defeats.

I think one of the most important scenes was in ROTS when the eventual Rebel leaders were discussing how to deal with Palpatine. It shows how the Rebellion was formed. Very important scene that was left out.

I‘m realizing more and more how much amazing potential the prequels had. They could have used the same exact cast and had a different director and editor and it would have been so awesome. I still love them for nostalgia‘s sake, but I like to dream about how much better they could have been.

I was lucky enough to see the entire unedited version of Star wars in 1977 when i was on vacation with my Dad in San Francisco. We got to go to a preview for the media. Imagine my confusion when i saw it a few months later when my whole grade 2 class went to it and 30 minutes of footage was missing. No Biggs till the final battle, no jabba the hut as a human. and so much more. Sad you cant get the original uncut version.

The Space battle Luke observes on Tatooine as well as his scene at the Power Station with his friends are still in the printed versions I read back in the day (Novel, Picture book for kids (which I still have) and the Marvel Comics adaptation).

He had cut himself off from the force so no one could find him. Ray works this out and mentions it to him in the scene when Luke has her cross legged outside a cave on the cliff.

Regarding the discussion around @3:55, there is another scene with Anakin and Padme that immediately follows where Padme expresses her concern for republic and Anakin gets annoyed. It is directly after rebel scene and that dialogue has more context with the deleted scene added.

Ki adi mundi and plo koon were two of the best Jedi of all time right in the mix with obiwan, qui gon, anakin and evening yoda and mace. It’s too bad they weren’t in the movies more

most I could have done without.think they mostly would have felt like minute fillers to bulk out the script. but I think they definitely should have kept the greedo scene in with anakin. some of the "sweet and innocent" dialogue Lucas give anakin was cringe worthy and hard to watch at times. showing him losing the bap at being called a cheat would have suited the character build for anakin and that he always had that darker side to him. it would have been better continuity going into ep 2. but instead it goes from a fully nice respectful innocent kid to this whiny arrogant anakin and infact would even say his early impressions in ep ii was creepy, the way he looks at padimi is just creepy. a short scene that would have better connected anakin from ep1-2 . instead he is just completely different in character trates .

3:30 - Ki-Adi Mundi's group had the mission to end arena battle by disabling the droids. Seemingly they were to succeed and all droids are turned off.... only to be reactivated moments later from somewhere else.
