As I was about to replace the alternator voltage regulator, I took a peek inside the intake and determined it was time for a proper cleaning. Also took the opportunity of deleting the EGR, to prevent the intake from ever becoming this filthy again.
V8 diesel. The car is cat-back straight piped, i.e. DPF delete and muffler delete.
Replacing the alternator voltage regulator solved the problem with low battery charge.
Note that limp home mode is active in the exhaust sound clips towards the end.
