@@ruger6049Then you probably realize that "swear words" aren't the central issue. Everyone has a varied tolerance; for example, when I express something as BS, I am simply referring to the fact that I either know or strongly believe it to be untrue. Also, I notice that "some" people find iit perfectly acceptable to insult others in a writing without including any words that can be construed as "swears" and written in a manner that avoids being direct by careful wording and avoiding certain pronouns and phrasing.

As someone who has followed this channel for a long time, I remember what the comments were like before Paul started deleting them. Where a totally innocent commenter could randomly be attacked with the most graphically foul spewage you can imagine, and where a few of us tried to wage war against these trolls to discourage them from coming back. I, for one, am very thankful to Paul for finally using his executive privilege to remove these noisome trolls from the vicinity! ❤

I'm a member of the PSAudio forum. Paul is an advocate for transparency where possible, unless it's offensive or bullying, he'll never remove it. He also allows discussion of competitor products which is EXTREMELY unusual on their own company forum. I KNOW Paul puts transparency first. He just protects the masses from idiots. And no, I don't own any PSAudio gear, it's outside of my budget, but I aspire to in the future, and I greatly value their expertise and opinions as experts in the field.

Agreed, thankfully I can afford some of P.S. Audio equipment in the used market. The South African Rand is so weak, "the average Jo" here can't even afford the affordable new gear. I don't even think PS Audio has exorbitant pricing for the excellent products they make, but try paying almost 20 of your currency for 1 US dollar then yes, it gets crazy.

Of course, He wants to sell - But it doesn't mean his advice is biased or he has hidden interests that make his knowledge worthless. I agree, Paul. As long as people aren't being dirty, mean, and nasty, I know you are great with your viewers, customers, and KZfaq comments. I have watched your videos practically since you started the channel, and I have learned a lot and got to see into how PS Audio got started, and about you, and your employee's work. And in defense of you Paul, you talk about other companies' products also, and you aren't always selling the products. But, simultaneously, this is your business, and it's totally natural and understood you will talk about and display your products as part of explanations and how audio works. The only comment you mentioned about your Aspen speakers being affordable I need to chime in, if I may. I think they are beyond incredible, special, dynamic, and truly amazing speakers, without any doubt. Unfortunately, I can say, and I'm sure I speak for others, the Aspens are not affordable for everyone, and that definitely includes me. And although I appreciate Paul's enthusiasm for his Aspen FR speakers, and as amazing as they are, I cannot agree without any doubt they are better in every regard than any other speakers, because that's just not realistic or true, no offense. With that being said, I appreciate and thank you and PS Audio for putting out spectacular and amazing products, and for all your electronics and audio experience and expertise over many years.😊 Your friend from Aurora Colorado, Ernie

I've been meaning to post this for awhile. I don't feel you are JUST trying to sell your products. People confuse the idea that if you suggest (for instance) DSD is better than PCM, your doing it just to sell your products. I see it as you sell those products because you think that's the best. Of course your opinions are reflected in your products, if you didn't hold those opinions you wouldn't sell those products. People are cynical, and sure maybe some companies may be like that. But I feel you are a genuine guy. Much respect and thank you for sharing your wisdom and lets have a little decorum people.

Great comment Paul! I think the perfect speaker is a purely subjective thing and can takes years to find for oneself. And hey, maybe the true answer is that there is no "ideal" perfect speaker, rather the ideal is having at least three very different designs on hand (for myself, electrostatic, ribbon and horn ) for the variety of not just the musical style, but also the situation at hand ie would I use my Quad ESLs at a party or for a group of listeners? Certainly not.

Hey Paul, totally appreciate the sentiment that you express. Some individuals do tend to get very excited and start spewing inflammatory comments that’s not needed. Listening to audio is a subjective matter, and also depends on one’s experience with listening through different setups. To me it is usually the inexperienced and some in the middle of their audiophile or enthusiast journey that get excited. That all said, appreciate your efforts to teach us all what you know. Many I agree with, some that may tend to come off as salesmanship, but in a polished sense. I agree that PS Audio makes quality products, and it is OK to recommend your own product, when you know it is good. Some may be able to afford and some may not be. Reminding people that’s it is a journey of experience is helpful.

I applaud Paul for today's post for telling it like it is. Today's society has lost its ability to act like an adult and communicate in a civil fashion when two people do not agree with what is being said. Just so sad. The best explanation I have ever seen is from a cartoon (as elementary as that is) which said, "Son, they don't want to hear YOUR opinion, what they want to hear is THIER opinion coming out of your mouth"! It's unfortunate that people need to make those kind of comments.

Great video. I sometimes hesitate to comment on some YT channels because someone comes on and trolls me. I had it happen on another audiophile channel. Some guy I wasn't even talking with came on and just started trashing me! So, great job Paul.

If you're unable to disagree or argue without being a prick then you don't meet the minimum requirements for participation in adult conversations. The good news is that respectfully disagreeing and arguing with others is a skill that anyone can learn.

Using the word "prick" could be a reason to block or delete you on many channels. They filter them out automatically. How would you like that? I don't see why youtube has to be a fake place where all comments have to be nice. When you start picking and choosing what words people can and can't say there is no use in commenting anymore.

@@funny0000000 I believe the word you're looking for is 'censorship'. You are quite right about it too. It's a heavy-handed response to an all too ubiquitous problem. However, I have also seen the other side of the coin, where trolls have the run of the comments. I'm not advocating censorship by any means. I'm just saying there has to be something to keep comments from becoming a sewer. I'm not sure what it needs to be, but I do agree that it shouldn't be censorship.

Civilized discourse is a basic expectation. Thanks Paul for all you do. Now, about that IRS V. It looks like the bass towers are firing into the back of the mid/tweeter towers. That can't be optimal, can it? Do the mid/tweeter arrays have a time delay so that their output arrives at the listening position at the same time as the bass?

I support you Paul all the way. You are one of the most soft spoken people on UT and from my experience you are in a minority. I guess with age and experience one realizes how little they know in spite of the lifetime experience. Younger people just weaned off milk seem to know it all when google is in the palm of their hand. Keep doing what you are doing, a lot of people are learning a great bit about audio from your chats and this can not be overstated. The PS products are out of my price range however I do appreciate the engineering that goes into them and maybe one day I will stumble upon a second hand PS gear and jump on it. All the best to you and wonderful staff you have working there who often provide a wonderful segway into specific hardware details - please do more of it.

Paul - While I am a very strong proponent of having all viewpoints in the debate, I appreciate your position on this. Some folks get all full of keyboard courage and they think that they can flame others without repercussions. I fully support trimming post not based on their position on a topic, but instead based on their civility towards others and, therefore, the community here. Disagreement without anger is, sadly, becoming a lost art.
