I was born in 1944 in Delft and went to school there. Moved to the USA in 1966. I do go back once in a while and I enjoy Delft. My wife and kids enjoy Delft also. Lived near Westplansoon for 22 years. All of my family still lives in the Netherlands. Nick DeJong.

Nesr friens had a wonderful apartment for a year here. I was too busy with my family. No time to visit.. but I did like Paris and Rotterdam and Budapest and Pellinge. I will visit you in Lancaster UK. Promise. Nice trips. Loved them. Thank you for inviting. I know you are busy with the careers too... I have to start this career life now too. But there is always a long weekend between for friends.. ❤

Love all your videos Rick, and we use your guide books as our bibles over the years. But just one comment on this great video,~ you called the delft ware pottery “earthenware” and that’s just not accurate, in fact it is “ceramics” as a generic term, but it’s the highest grade of ceramics, porcelain. “Earthenware”, is the reddish brown clay you can often buy in Mexico and the islands, it is low fired, and the clay does not vitrify, as in turning to glass, and gets overly heated in microwaves, etc. The next level is stoneware, it vitrifies/turns to glass, and is great for baking and microwaving and dishwasher safe. It has less impurities than earthenware, but delftware is the highest grade porcelain, very high fire, very few impurities, (hence the price);and should not be classed as “earthenware”. Thanks for sharing. We’re headed to Delft and Amsterdam in less than two months

City hall almost a 1000 years? Lol! Get your records strait: Holland isn’t only pritty but proud on their history and therefore accuracy is a must. The city hall is build around an graveyards tower. (The tower in the middle) that’s why the stone collors don’t match. The building is approx 600 years. Ur missing 40% here...

The City Hall was built around 1200. It was destroyed by a fire in 1618 and rebuilt.

regional political parties, tending towards self-ishness, and forget to often the total countries well being. sometimes suggest a, splitt off ? this can not be the trend of 2022. mind your purpose.

0:40 to 0:50 Do people handle foods like that in delft everywhere? Why are these people not wearing gloves? This was just disgusting to watch. Otherwise, liked the city.
@pdr99996 жыл бұрын
As long as the person handles food with washed hands it is just as clean as gloves
@SanderBK6 жыл бұрын
If you don't change your gloves at least every 20 minutes or so they will get fested with bacteria. Gloves are just for show, not for actual cleanliness.
@MK-111115 жыл бұрын
If you think gloves are cleaner, you don't know what you're talking about
