@@magnoliah5990 She was born 1934-10-13, so is now (2023-10-8) indeed nearly 89; however, the uploader has not told us when this video was made. From her appearance, not _too_ long ago; from her voice, I would guess in her 70s. (Which is still impressive!)

Wenn ich Nanas Gesang “ Amazing Grace” höre, ist das so unglaublich göttlich, dass ich das Gefühl habe, dass Gott nicht sichtbar ist, weil er möchte, dass wir an ihn glauben, nicht mit unseren bloßen Augen, die er vorübergehend geschaffen hat, sondern ganz und gar mit unseren ewig empfundenen Herzen. Nana Mouskouri, un monstre sacré de mon jeune âge. Je me souviens qu'elle donnait une des plus émouvantes de la chanson Un Canadien errant, écrite lors de la révolte des Patriotes vers 1837. Le mot Canadien, il faut bien comprendre, signifiait à l'époque un descendant de Français, les "autres" étant les Anglais. La chanson évoque le départ par bateau depuis Québec, de Canadiens enchaînés en exil vers l'Australie. Leonard Cohen, ce grand poète chanteur de Montréal, en a fait une très belle version anglaise (Eh! Oui, ainsi faisons-nous les choses au Canada) The Lost Canadian. Autre rappel de Nana Mouskouri, Puisque vous avez publié une vidéo de Patricia Janeckova de L'aria The Last Rose de l'opéra Martha, Madame Mouskouri chantait aussi la version française de la chanson populaire irlandaise, La dernière rose de l'été. Beaux souvenirs que tout cela. Merci de nous donner l'occasion de nous rappeler les bons moments du passé.
