I used to see trains crowded with many people in India. Train you take is not the same as I know. I think train in capital city is clean and more convenient to take.

It depends on location and the time you are traveling. If you can skip the office hours during weekdays, it's less crowded. The Delhi metro train is very clean and comfortable to travel around.
