DELICIOUS EASY PUMPKIN DUMP CAKE!! Last minute Thanksgiving Dessert that's Better than Pumpkin Pie!!

Looking for the perfect Thanksgiving dessert? This cake is made with a box of cake mix and can be baked and ready in an hour! It is seriously my favorite dump cake and half of it was gone within the first day!

Pumpkin Dump Cake
Ingredients:
Pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling): 2 cans (15 ounces each) (850 grams)
Evaporated milk: 1 can (12 ounces) (340 grams)
Granulated sugar: 1 cup (200 grams)
Cinnamon: 3 teaspoons
Large eggs: 3
Yellow cake mix or butter cake mix: 1 package
Chopped pecans: 1 cup (100 grams)
Salted butter (melted): 3/4 cup (170 grams)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare Pumpkin Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pure pumpkin, evaporated milk, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and eggs. Whisk until well combined and smooth.
3. Pour Into Baking Dish: Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
4. Add Cake Mix: Sprinkle the yellow cake mix or butter cake mix evenly over the top of the pumpkin mixture.
5. Optional: Add Pecans: Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the cake mix layer.
Drizzle with Melted Butter: Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix and pecans.
6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Cool and Serve: Allow the pumpkin dump cake to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
8. Optional: Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat!

Hi- Or, if you use all the spices you would normally use for Pumpkin Pie, or, use the "pumpkin pie spice" bottle you buy at the market instead of just Cinnamon, your filling will be outstanding! Just copy the amounts from a Pie recipe. Or, we have used Pumpkin Pie Mix ( in can), eggs, canned milk plus 4 eggs as your base. If you want it more pumpkin spicey!

Technically a dump cake means no mixing of ingredients. But I see so many people on KZfaq doing them differently. I’ve seen the pumpkin ones done with no milk and sugar and such mixed in just dump the cans of pumpkin in the pan ad some spices if you used 100% pumpkin instead of the pumpkin pie filling and then add the cake mix (spiced cake mix is great) and then instead of melted butter you can do slices of butter all over the top. Or if you want it to be more cakey rather and like a cobbler you can follow the directions to make the cake mix and dump that on top of the pumpkin instead of it dry. It’s all easily adjusted for personal preferences. 😊

Looks awesome! It looks like your oven isn’t heating evenly. To fix that, rotate it half way through the baking time! Looks like it would be so fun to make with my grandson one day. Will have vanilla bean ice cream, AND whipped cream to top it off with! Go big, or go home, right?
