The fact that a dish from India, with a very important food culture, is the national dish of England, with way less rich gastronomic cousine is such a colonialist thing hahah

Ikr?! Same thing with tea too!
It's said that CTM is invented in UK. It's pretty much a fusion between butter chicken and chicken tikka
This is not an Indian dish. It's British.
Nazmul Bhuiyan it is Indian
why do you have to ruin the video with such a bullshit comment? No one cares about colonialism in the modern day, lets just eat tikka and enjoy each others company instead of constantly bringing up the past. I suppose it could be the flip side and brits could say the spices are disgusting and shit on india's cuisine... at least they enjoy the flavors.
Love all of your Indian dish making video๐ really wanna try one of those

so glad you guys mentioned the role of pakistani and bangladeshi migrants, people tend to forget about them when it comes to south asian cuisine

Nobody in Bangladesh ever heard of Chicken tikka masala. I ate in few so-called Bangladeshi restaurants in London and I can say that the food did not look very authentic. I find most South Asian food in Britain are fusion. Do they have authentic Bangladeshi food such as shuti kabab and luchi, beef tehari, or kachci biryani, kala bhuna, chingri malaikari or ilish mach'er paturi? or different kinds of Bangladeshi pitha such as kholaja, chitoi, bibikhana, pakon, puli, or bhapa?
I just love how they switch mid-sentence to korean or english. Must be really practical to convey exactly what you mean

Tikka masala is Indian but north India. Indian cuisine has extreme variety. You should try some Northeast Indian food. And come to India!

Gabie: We are traveling through food Me: I love that. Even if we cant go to a specific country we can still experience it by cooking for example Korean food. It might not be 100% the same but its better than nothing ๐
That's what I usually do, authentic ingredients are hard to find, but the taste and the experience feels like traveling.
Straining the rice is good for health (removes a lot of starch) and its also totally accurate. I'm Bangladeshi and that's literally how we cook rice everyday; we strain it when its halfway cooked then steam it the rest of the way! :) Loving your Indian cooking Gabie :)
Hi Gabie!! I actually DM-ed Josh (because it was right after watching their Singaporean Crisps video on JOLLY) some common Malay Malaysian/Singaporean recipes that we prepare during our celebrations (Hari Raya as it's known in Malaysia and Singapore but Brits would know it as Eid). Hope you try some of those out!!
