Hey Plaza, i work at a CAT dealer as a service tech. For never driving a motorgrader, good job. Those are definitely the hardest to learn due to the fact it intimidates people with all the levers and pedals. For your information man, 140H, or and H series motorgrader uses air brakes, the alarm should shut off within 30 seconds after start up. If the alarm does not turn off, either the machine isn't building air, or a level three code is present. Driving with no air, is dragging the brake on the transmission. But judging by how easy she moved, id say it had a level 3 code. Level three is severe, anything that can pose a danger to you or the equipment. It is best never to operate a machine with a alarm going off unless you know why. I enjoy your videos man. Keep up the good work. Just wanted to share some information with you.

I'm guessing that is why the owner told him what to take where and then burned out of there in his pickup. Great owner!

Usally on a140 h will be a chain down point in front of the articulation, point near the centre ,I usally cross the chains over here to help stop the walking action on a grader, and put a tyre under blade to help preserve the deck, hold the blade down with another chain.but we have very rough roads here in Australia.

It's weird seeing the way you do a chain binder in the state of Texas you put one end of the chain on the equipment or load and the other end of the chain in the slot or d-ring on the trailer and you put the chain binder in the middle and the excess chain you wrap it around the chain binder or ratchet binder

Plaza Towing them two levers that control the blade to go up and down, when you have the blade all most on the deck push them both forwards and the should click which puts them into float and did you put the articulation pins in it?? Or where they not their?? Just wondering, wouldn’t what you to get pinched for something stupid but not putting the pins in it!! Lol

Had the trailer for almost a year now. You'd think it just came off the assembly line. That's whats differentiates us from most companies especially in our area. Clean well maintained equipment goes a long way. Especially when dealing with high profile customers such as million dollar motorcoach owners

If you are careful you can tuck the left side of the mull board behind the front of the rear tire and the right part of the mull board up against the front tire just don't put a lot of pressure against the front tire. Honestly you can tuck the whole mull board under the grader but that is a whole different process, same as standing the mull board straight up on end. Anyways great video.

Wouldn't you want to move that grader as far forward as possible? It seems like with all the weight of the grader being toward the rear of the machine that you'd want to move it as far up on the trailer as you could for proper weight distribution. Or am I missing something?

Interesting trailer concept 39:20 with sliding axles and tilting cargo bed. One question -how is the axle carrier moved over this long distance - with hydraulic cylinders or chain mechanism? Here in Austria (Europe) I have never seen this kind of trailer. TY in advance and cheers!

I have a question. Do most CAT machines use Air Brakes? And do they function like trucks and school busses? (Like buzzer at 60 and parking brake pops out like at 30 or so). I never hear the “air being applied” when parking or when the foot is taken off the brake or an air dryer purging. that’s why the question. Plus I’m always looking for the yellow Diamond parking brake knob but never see one.

At least the equipment you are moving is not dirty. I hate it when I have to move blades and loaders that are completely full of mud and dirt that you can't even put chain in the tow hooks. Dozers I can understand but not loaders or other equipment.

You might be under-tied for that load. Four chains@ 4700 lbs is 18800. A Caterpillar 140H Motor Grader is ~48000 lbs and the 50% rule needs 24000 lbs of tie down. Two more chains (over the grader blade-28200 lbs total) would keep DOT from writing some expensive paper or your insurance carrier from walking if something happens.
