I use Pixieset also. Works fine for commercial work and for donated work I do for social work. However, I don't use it for portraits because I sell prints and albums, etc., and I deal with clients one on one for that.

Thanks! I don’t put due dates on anything. The agents need the photos to list usually so it’s not really something I find necessary since with pixieset they have to pay before they are able to download anything.

I am liking Pixieset so far. Thanks for the video. As I prepare to dive into RE photography, client delivery was the next, "what is the best way to do this" question. I was cruising around on PFRE site and came across a blog for the new site, "Show and Tour", which is a new client delivery made specifically for RE photographers. Was curious to see what you thoughts were on the site, that is if you had a chance to check it out.

Hi have you noticed the picture size shrink when uploading to pixieset? I just noticed that when I select a 10mb pictures to upload on pixieset it shows a bar with 2.3mb uploading.

Hi Mike, You mentioned the virtual tour at the end and a few websites. Which do you use? I'm assuming you have two subscriptions, one for pixieset and one for something to host a virtual tour?

Yeah I use Matterport for virtual tours currently. They host all their tours on their site.

Hey Mike! Do you send an additional invoice? Or is the client good with whatever pixieset provides when they lay? For example, my most recent client did photos and the floor plan, I billed it all through pixieset and it’s integrated PayPal. How would you go about it? Do you create a separate copy that’s itemized? Thanks for all your help!

Unfortunately it does not! 😩 I wish it did. Hopefully in the future it will. For me pretty much 100% of the time if someone gets a video they also get photos so I just charge them for the video in Pixieset along with their photos and once they pay for their photos I'll just email a dropbox link to their video file. It would be great if it was all included in Pixieset but this still works well!

If I include drone video as part of the purchase packet, can the video be included in the group of photos? This is awesome if client only wants photos, but would be super if we could include videos as well.

Yeah it would be great if they included video but they don’t and have to send separate. Hope they add that functionality!

Hey man thanks for this great video. I ran into a question where one of my clients that I have done multiple projects for is asking if there is a way he can view all of his galleries without having to go through every email that I have sent him if he needs to quickly flip from one gallery to the next gallery?

There’s no way to do that I know of. You’d have to access them via each link. Only way would be for you to upload them to one gallery with separate sections.

This may be an obvious answer but once the realtor gets prompted for payment, how do they pay you? Do they use a credit card or something on the website and then you get paid via pay-pal? Wasn't sure how that works, thanks! And thanks for all of the helpful videos!

Thanks! It’s basically the same as if you choose PayPal from any other merchant. It bounces you over to PayPal’s site for a moment and then back after payment is completed.

What if they want less photos than the ones that are in the collection? Could you put a price per pic? Or per quantities (1x30, 5x100, 10x190 or sometihing like that?)

You can do price per image but not by certain quantities.

Usually send the photos via pixieset and charge there for all services rendered. Once paid I will send the non photo links separately via email.

You can send them watermarked photos and when they pay, they get the clean versions.

Yes, the gallery they receive has the watermark and then once they pay they receive a download link automatically and those photos have no watermarks.

I really like this. The only thing is my clients are the realtors and they pay via invoice within 30 days as a company. The only issue is if there is a way for them to download everything at once. The presentation of this is amazing and I think they would like this but downloading each photo at a time would be a hassle for them.

All photos in the gallery are downloaded all at once together. They aren’t downloaded individually.

Bradley M Vranish yes I have a separate website. First thing clients always ask is how much it will cost so yeah, they know the price upon booking. I do currently do booking manually, yes. Looking to possibly implement a booking service of some kind but haven’t done so yet.

Thanks for the video. I sell dog sports photos to clients when I shoot their tournaments as a side gig. I’m finding it difficult creating a nice gallery on my squarespace wildlife photography website and need a better option for clients to look at the photos of their dogs. Once they find the photos, I send them an invoice and once they pay, I email them the final edits direct from my email to theirs. Would this platform work well for me to load up 200 or so dog photos? I also would like all the dog owners to be able to access the same gallery and choose from it. Does this make sense? Thank you.

I send my videos via dropbox after I receive payment. I wish it was possible to send through Pixieset. Hopefully they add that functionality one day soon!

What about just water-marking your images to Dropbox, and in your invoice say that as soon as payment is received they will be replaced by non-water-marked images?

I suppose that would work just fine! I think the difference and disadvantage of that is how you are presenting the images to the client. Pixieset has beautiful looking photo galleries and user experience. That's all lost using a Dropbox link.

Hey David, This is exactly what I do when I shoot the first listing for a new Realtor. I want them to see the quality before they pay. This really builds trust. After the first listing, I do the usual: send a link and an invoice. Jim

Yeah I used the paid version. Pretty certain you can do what you need to with the free version.

This site has changed since you posted this. I sent photos to a client where he and his wife were to pay to remove the watermark. They said there were no watermarks and were able to view them without paying. Fortunately, they are trustworthy and love the pictures and this presentation. The other problem is, on the download size/ resolution drop down, full res and 3600px are the only ones that say no watermark available, which doesn't make any sense. I don't know what this is all about. Any idea on how to correct these issues?

I’m not sure how they were able to view them without watermarks before paying. Sounds like maybe it wasn’t set up correctly possibly. I use the 3600px setting for delivery. Works great for me.

Hi Mike, I'm at my wit's end and need help. My problem: When my client pays for a gallery that includes photos and video, they only receive a link to down load photos. The video download link never arrives. Any thoughts what I'm doing wrong? Also, thank you so much for your channel, it has help me so much.

Hey! Yeah, it doesn’t deliver the video as a download. You have to manually send a link to the video. It is kind of a bummer.

Do you upload full res pictures or already MLS sized ? is it better to do MLS sized so you can save on space ?

You could go either way really. You can choose the size they are downloaded at from pixieset so If you upload full res images the client can download a lower res version. Whatever suits your personal preference.

@@InsideRealEstatePhotography been toying around the idea of splitting. So charging client 1.5% processing fee. If they ask what it is I’ll just be honest. But this way it’s split between both parties. I dunno may just charge all to them and see what happens haha.

Since Pixieset doesn't allow delivery of video files, how do you collect payment for and deliver videos to clients?

They do now allow adding video to your gallery. I just add the video onto the price of the photos and add the video to the gallery so they can see it before purchasing. We they purchase, they get the download for the photos automatically and then I send the video file separately. I indicate this in the initial email when the gallery is sent so they know what to expect.

Hey Mike question, I've got my business paypal set so I can get paid the way you're demonstrating. I charged a client $200 and I noticed, I was charged a fee of 7 dollars and change; do you end up paying a paypal processing fee everytime you get paid from a client? Do you have a work around? or is it worth paying the 2.9% every time? I'm sure it adds up! Any input is always appreciated!

Yeah, paying the fee every time. No way around it really no matter what online payment service you use. If you want to avoid it my advice would be to build it into your price. Charge your client $215 instead of $200.

Thanks! Currently I don’t use any sort of scheduling service and I just manually manage my calendar. I’ve thought about it many times but have not really come across a system that I really want to use.

You can disable the pay function and just make the photos downloadable without payment.

I created a Pixieset account but I haven't set it up yet. On the watermark, is there a setting to display the watermark only when viewing the pictures on the site but without it being on the pictures when they order or download?

carl mcneill hey! Yes, the watermark only appears on the site. When the photos are purchased and downloaded there is no watermark.

@@InsideRealEstatePhotography ok thank you. I've never set up a website before but this is something I need to do. I'm not that familiar with pixie set either. From what I understand, they can order pictures from pixie set? Can they download them and have someone else print them?

carl mcneill yes, once they purchase the photos they will receive a download link via email and they will be able to download them and print them or do whatever they like with them.

Can you make a gallery for headshot Photos? I want to put dozens of photos from corporate headshots and have them look for there photo from there company on there own and buy there individual photo in that gallery. Is that possible with Pixeset?

Unfortunately you can’t as of now but I’m hoping they will add that. I just send a separate link for a video via Dropbox.

Great tutorial buddy. Have you used tourwizard. That's what I use for their photo and virtual tours, I send them online invoice via square payment, once its paid ,I activate the tour page

Alipasha A thank you! I have not tried tourwizard but I will check it out. Thanks for sharing! What I love about this is that it’s automated so as soon as they pay they get the download link immediately. I do invoice for videos and Matterports and things that aren’t photos though and wait for payment and then send. I hope pixieset decides to host videos at some point, that would be great!

They don’t do videos unfortunately. I’ll send a separate Dropbox link for that. I have a separate website.

It produces a receipt but not an invoice. I’ve never had anyone request one really.

Hey! No it doesn’t. I’ve since switched to using Spiro (spiro.media) which is dedicated to real estate photographers and handles scheduling and everything else you could imagine as well 😊

@@InsideRealEstatePhotography thanks! lol I've just spent hours setting up Pixieset before knowing about Spiro just now. Pixieset does have booking ability but you are probably correct that spiro is more designed for real estate photographers. Will check it out.

Unfortunately no, not at this time. It goes through PayPal which I don’t necessarily love but it works and most people trust it.

I do! Its a great tool. I’m in the process though of possibly switching to something more real estate dedicated but haven’t settled on anything yet. I want to incorporate online ordering and scheduling.

Also curious what software you use to deliver the videos? Do you have a KZfaq video I can watch covering this? Dropbox works but doesn’t look the best, and I looked into wetransfer but seemed very basic

I do next day delivery. I wouldn’t go beyond 48 or it will be tough to retain business. Unfortunately it’s the nature of the beast that people want their photos back immediately.
