Happy to see you have a central boiler! I have a 6048 myself. One thing I might suggest is adding a bypass for the heat exchanger in your plenum. I added one last year when I installed my brand new unit and it allows you to keep the boiler running and use the AC. Before last year I couldn’t run the AC while the boiler was running because the heat exchanger would overpower the coil and the air would come out of the ducts hot instead of cold.

Hello from the Netherlands . I saw someone on another channel build a wooden-shed-building-kit ( four wooden wall panels and a roof ) around a new wood boiler that person didn't want to watch "such an ugly thing" he said in that video . and I actually thought that was a pretty good idea and he had the same time like a small stock of dry wood there in the shed inside out of the snow thanks for the video . Sincerely, Hollandduck

I’m not trying to start a silly debate here, but I would like to say that I really appreciate it when people use the correct terms for things - yes, it DOES matter! - so good on you for stating “skid-steer” rather than “Bobcat”… even if it was indeed a Bobcat brand skid-steer. 😎👍🏼
@AtomicReverend
@AtomicReverend Жыл бұрын
How many of these tools do you call by their proper name my guess would be very few if any, not to many people say "hand me the adjustable locking pliers (Vise Grips)", nor does hardly anybody say hand me the adjustable wrench (Crescent wrench), or the grove joint pliers (Channel Locks), cross headed screw driver (Phillips screwdriver), or a star headed bit/screwdriver (Torx®). We generally name tools after the originator or inventor. Obviously there are exceptions to this rule but they are all standard industry terms unless you are working for their competition or in some sort of school shop class the terms really are interchangeable. A Skid steer is also called skid loader, a compact tracked loader (or wheeled loader if it has wheels) or just compact loader but a lot people call them a Bobcat. I personally use both terms and up untila few months ago I was around them almost daily. It's like the Brits calling a vacuum a "Hoover" or the task of vacuuming "hoovering". We all know what they mean, thats what makes the English language so great because there's so many words all describing the same thing. The coke, soda, pop, fizzy drink argument comes to mind all are the same thing to most people.

Have you figured out how long it will take you to break even on your broiler? I think it’s a wonderful investment and hopefully it will keep you toasty warm this winter. From what I’ve heard it’s supposed to be colder than normal this year, maybe that forecast has changed but they also said more snow than normal. I know my son-in-laws boiler has saved them a bunch of $$$$. Good luck and I hope everything runs smoothly for you,. 🍁🍂🍁💚🙃

Question I m intrigued by this. What is this whole set called? How much does it cost plus. Could we do this with a home that was built 1975? We have a wood stove down stairs. But do not like the idea of using it. But we might end up doing so.

The exact one I was looking at. But it was more efficient price wise, and wood wise, to go with just a big wood stove in the basement. We only have the small house to heat though.

Like the other person, suggested, I would also suggest adding a bypass onto your exchangers. That way if you do experience a week on any of them at any given point in time in the winter, you can simply bypass that exchanger until you get it replaced without having to shut down your stove.

You’ll end up regretting using any blk pipe fittings or nipples. It will take some time. But it will rust thru. I did HVAC for 17 years. I’ve seen several times. Installers using blk pipe because it’s way cheaper than stainless or brass. The unseen damage the rust will do to the inside of your unit will be measurable. First your pumps will fail.(they don’t like rust. I urge you to replace all blk pipe that has water running thru it. In the house I bought they used one blk pipe fitting on my well tank. I woke up one morning with it spraying all over due to a rust hole in one 4” pipe. I’m not trying to be a know it all. But you will. Someday regret using blk pipe on water joints.

Run the pumps 24/7, at least while the boiler is burning. That keeps the water moving so you don’t get hotspots. Those pumps are made to run continuously. If you stop them they tend to lock up.
