My father left when I was 5-6 years old and I have never known more about him since, so I find this pretty inspirational... I also have a daughter now and no matter how hard it gets, all I know is that I'll be always there for her.

Respect to her parents. They didn’t just leave her at home and have her sort herself out, they actually were able to squeeze in caring for her. I also love that the dad declined the money donations, he understood that they didn’t need brand new clothing, saying they weren’t in a situation for charity. I"m a father to 3 kids, twin daughters and an adopted son. I can say with absolute honesty that the best memories I have with my kids were made when we were broke. The nights when we'd gather around the table and pull out the board games (usually monopoly) or play a PnP game like Cyberpunk 2020(decades before the 2070 videogame) and play till the sun came up the next day. Only the youngest twin is still with us and she has said the same. The best memories were made on the cheap.
