A guide to upgrading or replacing the M.2 SSD, RAM, WiFi module on the Dell Inspiron 15-5590 laptop. Part links in description.
This is a relatively simple process requiring just a small Philips head screwdriver and a plastic pry tool.

Thanks for the great video. However, the cable to connect the SATA drive is not actually missing. It is that one folded up in the middle of the metal foil protection of the bin, with a QR code tag on it.

This is a couple years old, so sorry if I don't remember correctly, but I don't believe it was included in this one. The cable would have a fairly large plastic SATA connector on it which I can't see here, unless it was underneath inside the drive bay itself, but I don't remember that being the case.

@@BrueComputing Oh, don't worry! I just wanted to give a little contribution to this helpful video. It really helped me with my notebook, which is exactly the same. So, I can confirm that the SATA connector is indeed inside the drive bay. 😉👍

Ah that's good! May be a regional variation, as I recall some laptops I looked at (maybe Acer) had the SATA cable included in the box here in the UK, where as in other countries it wasn't. But thank you for the kind words and glad it was helpful.

I have the inspiron 17" 5770 with the double ram slots, one of which is empty and the other has 8GB 1Rx8 PC4 - 2666V -SA1 - 11 Question is: To upgrade do I need to buy exactly the same ram or will any DD4 do?
