I wouldn't have tried the replacement without a good clear video like this. This machine was never right from the get-go and replacing the HDD with a $20 SSD took 15 minutes and just changed it completely. Thank you!!

I am keeping my hdd for storage and I just installed a 500gb m.2ssd so will it make my laptop faster or should I transfer windows to my ssd first? Or should I let it be on hdd

Hi there. I just received my nvme ssd directly from dell. It looks nothing like the long one you just installed. Its about the same width and the pins looks the same but its only 1 inch square. Yours is like 3 inches long. Dell website says my small chip is compatible with this laptop. The customer support technician says the same thing. I dont see how that's possible. I cant even screw it down the way you did. Are you familiar with the different style nvme chip im describing? Its a 512 gb ssd drive.

I have the Dell 5570 I7 8550 Laptop. It came with a 1TB HDD and a 128 SSD. I wanted to upgrade to a larger SSD, but I'm not sure what the max size is I can use? Dell says too different things... one says 256 max and the other says 512 max? Thanks

I have been servicing these laptops for 17 years, and we upgrade them for our clients. The maximum SSD m.2 you can install without any issues is 2TB, and it will work beautifully. Sure, my friend, you must trust me on this :P To open PowerShell as an admin, right-click on the Windows Start menu. If you are using Windows 11, click on "Terminal (admin)". If you are on Windows 10, click on "PowerShell (as administrator)". Once in the terminal, copy all the content from this paste: pastebin.com/8HkQ7wy5 , and paste it into PowerShell. It will take a minute to run all the commands, and at the end of the process, it will finish with this line: "[void]$Form.ShowDialog()". After that, all you need to do is press Enter, and a menu will open. Click on "Remove all Bloatware", and it will display "Finish" after a few minutes. Rest assured, it is totally safe. i highly recommend the crucial for the ram and 2400mhz , no it can't exceed to 3200, the bios will auto adjust to max it can support. about m.2 Please use the Samsung MZ-V7S500BW 970 Evo Plus, it's much much better than others. but if you can get the Samsung nvme PRO, (that would be the top of the line :P )
