Great video ! I have a E7440 with fingerprint reader. Other videos have you remove hard drive , fan assembly and other things plus about 25 screws . The only thing that is tricky is removal of the keyboard bezel. patients and strong finger nail and thin credit card will work to removal it.

Hi, I finally made the backlit keyboard swap on my E7440. The backlit keyboard works fine. Thanks for the video. Question, the backlighting times out after about 10 seconds. I tried going into the control panel to look for a way to adjust it so that it stays lit all the time, but I don't see anything for that. Is there a driver that I need to download?

How much the size of the keyboard? Because I want to buy a cover for my keyboard to avoid from dusk

somehow my keyboard did not work. I removed it replaced all four stip ribbons normally. Now how to troubleshoot. I checked with my reinserting by broke key keyboard too but that also is not working.

Why is the re no videos of this with laptops with fingerprint readers? Because its bit different.

Thanks for explaining how the connector works when you're assembling them... (read as sarcasm...) I broke mine disconnecting them... now I can throw the laptop away! no need to get the replacement keyboard. the connector on the motherboard is now broken. Other than the video is jumpy, flipping back and forth, 'checking' things, but not explaining what you're checking for... the video was 'great'.... we know you know how to do this... the reason we are watching is because we do not know how to do it....
