I have optiplex 9020 based on i7 4790 and gtx 1050lp two slot card. It’s plugged in the pci-e x4. And I downvoltaged my cpu and gpu and It works pretty fine)

Did you get the support coverage? How much does it cost to upgrade from basic to pro? And how much to extend it? Found a 3080 mini PC in a dumpster recently but it might be stuck in a kind loop where windows doesn't quite boot up properly - a bit wonky as you would say! Thank you 🤓

Is this PSU sufficient to support a dedicated video card and other upgrades? It seems to me very few 200w in case you want to add a HDD in addition to the video card, occupy all the RAM, WI-FI module, etc.

do these have proprietry power connections for the PSU? and also if not what if i just move it out of the enclosure just to make room for a proper GPU Like a RTX 3050? How i can explain it is imagine a Test bench for this setup instead of a case and if i can upgrade the psu i'll just switch it out with my Corsair GS800

I really don't like my i5-10505 3080. I 'upgraded' from a Precision 3420. The 3080 doesn't have a screwless design, doesn't have the extra fan at the front like the 3420 does and does not have an internal USB header - useful when you have a WI-FI PCIe x1 Low profile card with USB for the BT, such as an Intel 210ax based card. The fan really helped when running a 1050ti low-profile in the 3420, as part of an HTPC setup. If it weren't for the lack of support for

Really useful video seeing as I have just ordered this exact same model. You mentioned the second M.2 slot for another M.2 drive, but I believe this is for the WLAN card only. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it won't accept a second M.2 drive...

I am more conscious about heating issues. Should I go with 65W TDP SFF or 35W TDP Micro Form Factor ? core i3 with integrated graphics is enough for me.

Hi, thank you for the video. I also use this model at work. Got it nearly a month ago. Pretty fast machine. However, I am constantly hearing a clicking sound coming out of the front lower side of the case. Any idea what makes that sound? Something to do with the power module?

Possibly. If you open it up and you can't see any cables touching on fans anywhere then it may be the PSU.

I bought one and eventually does not have a heatsink on the chipset as DELL shows in their pictures, no 4 pin connector for a front fan.. I regret I bought it!!

Low profile, however it's worth checking the DELL aren't using a proprietary fitting on the mainboard before purchasing an after market cooler.

8 pin connector for motherboard, pci-e x16 under pci-e x1, 255W UPS it’s all sad :( But with new architecture of cores os cpu, this ups will be enough for gtx 1650 But it will not fit in pci-e x16, only in pci-e x1... I didn’t see gtx 1650 low profile with 1 slot

If you stick a dedicated graphics card in then it'd happily run games, depending on the in game settings being used and GPU installed.

As far as I'm aware the only way round a BIOS password is to replace the BIOS chip on the mainboard...

Nice GPU! Unfortunately that GPU needs at least 300W and the Dell Optiplex 3040 comes with a 180W PSU so even if it did fit (i've not checked) then there's not sufficient power to run it. :-(
