The by now 13 year old SSD is still doing ok, but at 256Gb my phone almost laughs at it 😀. This machine is built well, it fell from about 1m high on a corner and I think the floor had more damage than the case. It is also built to upgrade and maintain, memory and drive are very accessible by laptop standards.

I already have this laptop i''m planning on buying an ssd for it because system is too slow for me thanks i'm now going to get a ssd in some weeks for my laptop

You need to install an OS on the drive after you install.

I just bought one of these for $180aud bargain, it's got i7 2720qm Quadro 2000m 12g ram but I plan on upgrading everything in it considering that newer laptops can't be modified, chucking the best stuff I can in it, i7 2960xm firepro m5100 n ram n SSD upgrade and I noticed a slot for a m.2 2242 ssd? Do these laptops have an m.2 slot lol that'd be sick

I don't really see why not. Just make sure to format it for gpt, it should be fine.

maybe you should try exp gdc for use external gpu...it great, i hv same model with ur laptop dell m4600+exp gdc gtx 1060 6 gb upgraded running great like a beast...

@@mjmcomputers Sr., whats the maximum upgrade for gpu and cpu for this model? I find one m4600 with a core 2 extreme, 17 inch screen without gpu. I dont have money for a M4800, im student and i want one to use for cad and fea simulation models...sorry kg bad english...thanks for the awesome vídeo!

@@PauloIrineudeSouza i7 2960xm amd firepro m5100 is the best possible upgrade for it, you'll probably need a 200+ watt wall adapter that i7 pulls 10 more watts than the stock one
