Open disaggregated networks are gaining traction among telecom operators around the world because they promise to accelerate innovation for telecom operators by enabling them to advance at the true pace of technology -- and not be held back by legacy architectures. But adopting open technologies sounds easier than it actually is. Further, the wide adoption of open networks depends on the success of the open telecom ecosystem. Still in its early days but growing fast, the open telecom ecosystem is where new technologies will be concepted and nurtured into real world offerings, fueled by industry-wide participation and real,-time learnings.
At Dell Technologies we are 100% committed to catalyzing the open telecom ecosystem in three ways: 1) we will enable collaboration among telecom operators, technology providers, and business leaders from across the enterprise landscape to identify market needs and innovative ways to meet them; 2) we will invest in creating new open products and solutions alongside our partners and customers and we will ensure that these offerings are production-ready at launch by integrating, testing, and validating them in our Open Telecom Ecosystem Lab; and 3) we will activate new offerings in the telecom market that will simplify and accelerate the deployment of open networks, as well as enable new services for emerging use cases, especially at the enterprise edge.
Throughout this video we will touch on these efforts and a broad array of other subjects, including achieving Open RAN performance parity with traditional RAN, the hows and whys of cloud-native architectures, the growing importance of edge computing, sustainability and open networks and, perhaps most important, the essential role of automation in open cloud-native networks. We will also look at various approaches to open multivendor networks for private wireless and emerging use cases for 5G and private wireless, as well as share our learnings from customer engagements.
