Fantastic comparison that sealed my decision to go with the XPS 13 - the 16:10 screen is a big advantage for my primary use scenario which is office based and entails lots of emails, word precessing and editing/reading text documents. You provide an excellent side by side comparison of 16:10 vs 16:9 on a 13” form factor in this video. I have no use for a touchscreen in my laptop, and the need for tablet mode, even less. Both excellent laptops, nonetheless.

Great video. I honestly really like the XPS 13, but that price tag is pretty darn high.

This is a good video, but in the summary at the end comparing the two not mentioning the main advantage of the HP Spectre being a 2&1 and what a huge advantage that is and why people might choose it is a big whoops moment that should be edited into that part of the video. Otherwise, it seems way too biased in favor of the Dell.

Wish either of them rather came with Ryzen 4800U. Feels to me that any laptop sold with a Intel CPU at the moment is already out of date

You're amazing, I was one of many asking for this comparaison. As I'm impatient and I have huge discount with my company, I already bought the the HP, I7, 4k, 1TB for 1200, which is unbelievable. The 4k OLED display on the HP is maybe the best you can find on all utrabooks. I came to the same conclusion as you, Dell's better, but HP has the best value for money, for sure ! can you compare the keyboard on xps13 and x1 carbon? specifically i am interested in knowing the key seize. x1 carbon seems to have much smaller keys after gen4.

From what I know, new Ice Lake suppose to make the computer wake instantly when you open the lid just like Macbooks. But my Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 take a while to wake up.

What's your explanation on how the XPS get much better battery life compared to similarly specced machines with bigger batteries? What about real life tests, like web browsing?

I am typically not an HP fan. But after my Dell Inspirion 13 broke and was looking for another laptop with 13" screen, I ended up going for HP Spectre X360 because Dell XPS 13 was way more expensive pound for pound. Spectre checked a lot of my specifications including 13" screen, Windows Hello, 1 TB storage, 16 GB Memory, 4K screen (OLED as extra). I hope it last as long as my old Dell though.

My senior has hp x360 2019 brand new. But already had a problem with the motherboard. I really like that hp design and dedicated end, home, etc button on the keyboard. I want to buy this for work. Hope this new x360 will not have the same problem.

I got unlucky with my spectre it came with a flickering issue that couldn’t be resolve by upgrading the graphic driver and had to return it

I was thinking about buying either the ENVY x360 15-dr1233ng or the ENVY x360 15-dr1234ng but I'm very unsure about whether or not those are the best options for me, just when looking at the many different versions of the HP convertibles, but also when comparing them to other laptops in general. Something important missed out, the Xps 13 has 2 thunderbolt drivers for 2 T3 ports, the HP has only one shared with 2 T3 ports.

could you please compare the dell xps with the 4k model on the spectre x360?

I love my spectre but it has 5 issues, the issues are pretty minor but annoying. 1. The way hp designed it made it so that there is a small gap between the keyboard and screen when closed. 2. When I purchased it it was on sale but since it was the Canadian store there was no option to change the color from silver to blue. 3. The battery life is decent I’m getting around 3 hours of battery when running Minecraft on full brightness. But the machine is pretty power hungry. 4. The speakers took a hit from the redesign. It doesn’t get loud and any volume setting over 75% makes the chassis vibrate. 5. Mine had a mild factory defect where the bottom plate is loose at the bottom left corner. Also the i5g4 is not for gaming. But alas small issues and it came with 3years warranty as part of a package. Most of these issues are small and maybe I’m nitpicking I dunno.

What about the OLED on the HP spectre?

I've been looking at Matt's videos and everytime he talks about the specs of the 2020 XPS 13, he lists it as having Intel Iris Plus Graphics, but on the website it just says UHD Graphics... can anyone confirm or deny that it has Iris Plus Graphics? (I spec-ed it out the same)

2 months ago, I was in the position to pick one between these 2 machines, I end up with HP. Honest, if Dell had discount $200 at that time, I will go with Dell, oh well. I am really happy with HP, I just don't think the difference is worth $200.

How about a segment on why the Killer wifi seems to always be slower, Linus mention software workarounds etc. 400+ vs 200 seems more tha just slightly slower. Why is Killer slower? Why does Dell stick w/ them (cheaper I guess). People used to swap out Killer for Intel but now it's soldered on!
