Hi guys, I was having the same problem with milk frothing too and was so frustrated until I found this video and then instead of follow his instructions to replace the water steam outlet, I go ahead and completed the decaling process and it works perfect, and now I am able to enjoy a cup of coffee like the way it used to be. I had this problem on a Magnifica approximately 1 week after a descale cycle all of a sudden there was a loss of pressure in the steam. I did the usual clean the milk nozzles out soaked in the milk cleaner fluid, removed any blockages, cleaned the O-rings put silicon grease on etc that did not work. What did work though was a manual descale of the steamer the power of the water / steam jetting out afterwards was ferocious. I think the built in descale function isn't thorough enough for areas with really hard water. The way I did it was fill the water tank with descaler tablet, then every 5 minutes turned the hot water knob for 15 seconds, then pressed the steamer buttom, then turned the knob again for steam for 30 seconds, turned it off. Waited 5 minutes then repeated this cycle over and over. It took about two hours, it's a right hassle but it works you see lumps of scale in the bottom of the cup. Makes me think the inbuilt descale cycle dislodges scale which blocks the nozzle. So a manual one as described throughly flushes it out.

Had a similar issue. Dismantling the machine confirmed how I could repair. The steam nozzle that connects with the milk frothier was full of hardened milk. Dismantling confirmed that there is no rubber gasket behind, just a hole that connects to a tube. I used some fine sewing needles and stuck in the hole which started to free up the hardened milk (I could see the milk contaminants sitting on the needle). I continued until I could get the needle all the way in, went to the next size up needle - descaled and all working well again.

Thank you. I replaced the coupling part and a solenoid valve in my 6 year old Eletta Cappuccino Top. Pain to get access to the carafe coupling, but boy was it worth it. EDIT: Milk has stopped frothing again. ☹️

How did you take off front panel?

Hi, I do own a Dinamica ECAM 350.55 and since yesterday, 10.12, when I try to make any milk coffees or even hot milk, I get ONLY hot steam (few hours ago I descaled the machine, but the issue still persists). Is just making a weird noise and feel/see just the steam.... (no milk is pulling through the tube) Is there anything that I can try to do or.... time to call for some pro repair? P.S I suspect also a defective milk jug, even if based on the visual inspection no idea what could be damaged...

Am curious what is actually broken in it?

Thanks for recording and sharing! What was the cause of the defect? Mine is doing the same and the first and most obvious thing to suspect is the O-ring seal. It seem to make a difference how the milk container nozzle is seated and also (possibly) its temperature - whether it's fresh out of the fridge or not, however it does not fix the problem, even for a single cup. Thanks in advance.

So which brand is better and more reliable?

Did you do an autopsy on the failed unit to see what went wrong. I would be curious to know if it could have been repaired

Hi Guys, when I connect the milk container the light for cappuccino and macchiato remain unlit like there was nothing attached but inserting the descaling plug the machine enables the descale button. Any hints on what should be the cause? Nespresso Delonghi Model EN520

My milk frother is not quite doing the same as this, it's producing froth which is full of big bubbles and not smooth. Seems to go OK if you press down on the top of the milk container whilst the milk is coming out. Hoping new o-rings on the spout will fix but not sure as one day it seemed OK then the next the quality of froth was poor.

Having problems with mine not creating steam. When i press for 'frothed milk' nothing happens. I guess it's the steamer unit. Do you have any ideas i could try? P.S with the water spout attached it does give off hot water. Thanks.

I have the Delonghi Eletta ECAM45.76X. I’m having problem in that the milk isn’t heating. Froths well. There is no issue with hot water or steam. Would this repair also fix heating of the milk or is that something different ?

Well, nice video. But if someone wants to go through this process one advice, DON'T. I changed the part and it worked for a while. So, it seems that the steam unit is not very reliable. A new part worked only for a brief period. Back to square one. Now it is just an espresso machine.
