it’s just is really disappointing to me that these girls literally recorded/filmed their killer for evidence yet they still haven’t gotten justice.

It really does seem odd to me. Murders are solved with much less evidence than this case. I have to commend those poor girls, though. Under serious threat of danger, to have the presence of mind to take pictures, videos, audio, all without the perp knowing it. Brave and intelligent girls, they were. Perhaps the police 'know' who did it, but don't have the evidence for a conviction. I hope so, because eventually they may get that evidence. If not, might never be solved.

@@jmc7504 LE made it clear the girls nor the family knew the killer. IMO, when they told us the girls stuck together I believe the killer probably just grabbed one of the girls threatening with a weapon so the other wouldn’t run because she was afraid he was going to hurt the other. I lost the video but there is a video out there with one of the attorneys stating shortly after the crime that even if this had happened before we had all this great technology it would still be an easily solved case. Talked like he was worried yet here we are.

This case is so sickening, baffling, and terrifying to me. How is it that the victim bravely took a photo of him and recorded his voice, and yet we don’t have him yet. She was so brave to do that. She had to have known she and her friend were not likely to live and she made her last actions count.

Because the cops have only released four words and one second of video. That's not enough to identify anybody. That's not enough to identify speaking patterns. Right now he sounds like every man I know, and this guy in the video. If the cops truly want to solve this, they need to release a hell of a lot more than what they have.

They haven’t even released the cause of death, anything about crime scene, items found, etc. imagine someone is able to learn for example, a wrench from their tool box was *used* (whatever you wanna call it) in the process of that day’s events, and/or this piece was found at the general crime scene. Someone hears that, goes “ive always suspected my husband/brother/coworker/teacher of this and now it makes sense because we were also missing a wrench from the toolbox as well.”

Easy to play armchair detective, I know, but I'm wondering if he produced a weapon as he approached, probably a gun, that he then concealed in a pocket while he continued to approach. This would have been the trigger for the girl to start recording, and "Guys.... down the hill" definitely sounds like a command or instruction. But without some additional threat of a weapon, I think it likely that the girls would have just run away. There was DNA recovered from the scene which has, as yet, not found a match. Perhaps the police may want to consider running the DNA on familial/ancestry DNA websites, (forensic genetic genealogy) which is what they did with the Golden State killer and found a match that led to the arrest and conviction of Joseph James DeAngelo.

One they are the most incompetent investigators ever, or two they are purposely protecting the killer, so while there was probably DNA at the scene I just don't think it was properly collected. It's not all that difficult to narrow down the killer's identity once you accept a few basic facts in the case. At the 2019 Press Conference LE revealed Young Sketch and declared that he was responsible for the murders. It was then revealed through media outlets that LE had possession of Young Sketch 4 days after the murders, on February 17 2017 (murders were February 13). Why didn't they release Young Sketch when they had it and ask the public to identify him? Because they already identified him. They thought he was a witness at the time. At CrimeCon 2018, Sgt Jerry Holeman reveals that LE had several sketches of witnesses, family members, and search party members. The only way LE would have known that is if they identified the people depicted in the sketches they had. In the April 29, 2020 interview with the Carroll County Comet, Sheriff Leazenby stated that the killer had likely been "interviewed but not immediately identified as an offender." So, they had several sketches at the beginning of the investigation and those sketches were determined to be of witnesses, family members and search party members. And the killer had likely been interviewed but not identified as the killer. The killer therefore, was likely considered a witness at the beginning of the investigation. The sketch of him was one of several sketches of witnesses they had all along. His alibi therefore will be one that puts him at the crime scene in order to explain why a witness saw him there (why a sketch of him exists) but will supply an innocent reason for being there that would have survived superficial scrutiny. They know who he is. He was hiding in plain sight as a witness. He changed his appearance dramatically following the release of Young Sketch. He is local, and his family is well-known in the community, just as Leazenby said it would be in that interview.

Cops been looking for this man for 5 years, flyers, sketch artists, more artists, maybe it would have been a good idea to release the video of the suspect. Not the 2 second release, there is 43 seconds on that tape. The police never released it. For what reason I cannot understand, it's incompetence. Police withhold evidence so when a suspect is found only the suspect knows the truth. Nothing on this tape fits that description. I can't believe they released only 2 second and then had the public guess the identity for years, this might have been solved if the public saw a longer version than just 2 seconds. She went there to meet what she thought was a new love, and this killer showed instead. 43 seconds of a man living in a small town, and we got 2 seconds. The police failed.

@@abelis644 I would have thought the same, being from a big city. After I moved to a small American town, I found out people would drive to other towns to party or have casual dates, because they didn’t want their reputations ruined. Gay people, too. In small cities, thieves drive over an hour, to the city, to steal goods to sell. I know this because I’m in long term recovery from addiction, and it’s a common thing in those circles. Since then, I’ve been working to solve the (addiction) problem. If it’s a habitual criminal, or someone with deviant interests (clearly), it may be second nature to him, to take his business elsewhere to avoid detection. What does make me think you might be right is that he felt comfortable enough to walk on that bridge, and even to approach someone aggressively, there. Then again, he may have come regularly to visit the place, but it does suggest a high degree of familiarity.

Came back here because there was a man arrested for kidnapping a 10 year old girl that investigators are looking into & all the characteristics you described, he has. I’ve learned to not get my hopes up when a new person of interest comes up, people will be so certain only for law enforcement to announce they are no longer a POI, but there are some undeniably odd things with this recent guy. 1. The girl he kidnapped was of a similar age as Libby & Abby. 2. He lured her to his house in broad daylight. 2. He lives 20 miles from Delphi. 3. He is an outdoorsman. 4. He alternated between having a job & doing well & being jobless & homeless. This is important because when he was homeless he would often live out of a tent in the woods or under a bridge. 5. On his social media he has several pictures of bridges, trains & old railroad tracks. I know those are not really concrete indicators of guilt but they are still odd nonetheless.

Then, son hides "down there", underneath the bridge, while father walks towards them, tells them to "go down there." There, they are killed. That must have been terrifying, and so sad for you. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I grew up in the inner city and was afraid a lot, from about age 12. I didn’t want to mature into a young woman, because crimes against that age group and gender were common, especially trafficking. Delphi seems like such e nice place to grow up. That’s why I moved to a small town when I had kids. It’s scary to know that nowhere is really safe. I took a good R.A.D. self defense class in college, and it has helped me to feel safer. They teach you real police ground tactics and other fighting skills that you practice on men in padded suits. It makes you better prepared! I hope you are able to feel safe again. ❤️‍🩹

@@svenskgangmiljo2168 It wasn’t in the wilderness, where there are hillbillies and outlaws hiding out. At worst, there might be drug dealers or homeless people camping, but probably not camping in February. It was a city park, if in a very small city. There are clearings with buildings and farm land all around. Some of the YT channels have aerial views of the whole area, from GPS and helicopter footage from the search for the girls. I know Gray Hughes does. It was thought to be a safe place for a long time but, sadly, nowhere is completely safe. It’s hard, when you have kids and the whole family is working. I used to put my kids in structured activities until I got home but, around age 11-14, they rebelled against them because they want more independence, and to spend time with friends. I have lived in a town that size, and would probably feel my teens were safer in a nature park than unsupervised in town. Town kids are often bored, and get into trouble. I know they were good kids, but so are mine, and they saw kids using drugs, stealing, vandalizing, and they would try to pick fights in town. (We moved to a bigger city, with more for teens to do, and it helped). Maybe home is safest, but if adults aren’t home, perpetrators also attack people in their homes or yards, and you can’t really control if your kids stay there. Having family in Sweden, I think what really needs attention is the American work week. Many Americans work 60-80 hours. Even one full time job is 40 hours plus commute, and I’ve often put in more time to get the work done, and have take home work. If we had a 30 hour work week and public higher education so older siblings don’t have to work, it would be possible to supervise kids adequately. Their family seems very responsible to me, considering the circumstances.

I think this case particularly haunts people because we can literally see and hear their murderer. It makes it particularly frustrating. If I was those girls I’d probably think “Okay if something bad happens, they will surely see this and get him” but that’s yet to be the case. I had a few experiences with creepy/off people when I was younger. At the time I just brushed it off as “that guy was weird” but now I’m older I think about the what-ifs. This was revenge murder, aimed specifically at Libby German. Abby was just unfortunate to be with her. This is why Libby was stripped naked and staged, while Abby was laid down fully clothed, coffin style. The small and close knit band of meth heads and cookers that did this did so to exact revenge on Libby's father, Derrick German, who was going to be going to prison for drug distribution, but was let off the hook when he agreed to become a police informant. One of the men involved, Garret Kirts, 2 years later, murdered his ex-girlfriend by strangulation, which was planned, and did this with 2 or 3 of the others. He also confessed to the strangulation murder of a man 2 weeks previously, which he was never charged for, due to corruption within the LE system. He and the girl who was involved in the other girl's murder are each doing 55 and 45 years. Garret was best friends with BG, and BG is the only one of the bunch that is not incarcerated on any charges. These all knew that land and Ron Logan's property like the back of their hand, and had grown up going there and partying out there regularly. The two that i mentioned were murdered by strangulation were most likely killed because there was fear that they were going to come forth to LE regarding what they knew about Libby's and Abby's murders.

@Derren Mathoera If it was him, the case would have already been closed. They have DNA from the crime scene and they have Paul Etter's DNA. It doesn't match. Otherwise, the police would have claimed him a murderer a long time ago. He was, however, wanted for kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in Tippecanoe County. That's why he had that standoff.

I think the killer was stalking. This wasnt spontaneous. It was the day before Valentine's Day. I think he was in the area to find someone to commit a crime against. He was lurking around there waiting for people to show up who he felt he could victimize. He could have been there on other days doing the same only not to have anyone appear who he thought he could victimize.

With all the dangers now days from the internet all kids need taught in school as a special class about the evilness that’s lurking out there on the internet. I strongly feel the older girl was the one who was communicating with this guy and he played he was the young good looking model. They planned to meet this good looking guy at the bridge. Then seen this old scruffy looking guy come towards them and realized they were scammed and in deep trouble. Girls for one are so vulnerable and trusting. Parents everywhere need to be on top of what your kids are doing!! P.S. There would never be a day in hell I’d let any of my kids walk on that dangerous bridge! It needs to be torn down

The only details I could find to this day about cause of death or the crime scene was that they were covered in blood, that the bodies were staged, and pieces of clothing were missing. I would of liked to hear your analysis of the mindset of the person based on that. Also, since you posted this there has been an arrest and I noticed that the man they arrested worked at CVS, was married, had a family, no criminal record, and was totally unassuming. He was hiding in plain sight. But we still know nothing because everything is sealed.

There was more recorded.... The one girl saying "He's still behind me isn't he?" And her friend says "Yep". Then one of them says "He has a gun!". He likely used the gun to herd them down the hill to the other side of the creek . The very odd part is how the search parties didn't find them sooner. The timeline is so bizarre.

The FBI flew to Delphi and took an active part in investigating this crime soon after it happened. This is why to me these claims hold no weight. Its not like only local cops have handled this crime. Usually info they hold back is because it's critical to the investigation. Like, for example, say someone gets shot to death and they don't release info on what type of gun it was, so when they interrogate someone they might slip up and say "I don't even own a .45 cal gun," which basically gives himself away. Albeit, this is a lazy example but you know what I mean.

@@84blizzle but in this case I can guarantee they had info that wouldn’t harm the case. It took them YEARS to release the “guys” part of the audio. What was the point in leaving out that one word? There was no need to do that. Now, the rest of the recording might contain graphic stuff where you can hear the violence if they have it, so not releasing that would make sense. I understand leaving out details of the murder and crime scene. I just feel like they failed us by not sharing as much of the recording as they could have. I feel like they might have more recordings. Wether or not that is graphic we will likely never know, but I’m certain they could have done more to help us sooner
@WhitneyDahlin
@WhitneyDahlin 3 жыл бұрын
@@ticrific I agree 1,000%. Releasing a few more words from the audio recording won't hurt the case. It's basically impossible to recognize someone's voice off of four words alone. It just isn't enough. If it was possible the police would have whoever the killer is in custody already. It's been 3 almost four years and they are no closer to solving it now than they were to begin with. if the killer really is a local like they believe because of how comfortable the killer is walking across the bridge that had gaps in it if they released more of the audio recording everyone in that small town would recognize that voice.
