So much admiration for Delta. After overcoming cancer early in her career she has had so much success and is loved by everyone . Then in 2018 after mouth surgery to remove salivary gland she had nerve damage causing paralysis of her tongue.She spent 12 months learning to speak ,then sing again. She is one tough cookie. At age 19 her debut album ‘Innocent Eyes’ , the second highest selling Australian album in Australia of all time ,(first of course John Farnham’s ‘Whispering Jack) , topped the charts for 29 weeks. Delta is an amazing singer/ songwriter/ musician. So happy you loved her too.🥰

This is the forecourt of our Sydney Opera House. Singing in the open air with ocean breezes can't be easy either. She does an epic duet with another Aussie artist Josh Teskey just with him on guitar and her on piano....doing a cover of INXS "Never Tear Us Apart ...just bloody magic.

This was recorded after her mouth surgery. She lost all feelings in her tongue!! And took a year just to learn how to talk again. Her earlier versions of this is even better. If you listen carefully some of her words are a bit mumbled. Still amazing though. It's amazing she can sing at all. She is one tough human. This was written for the movie "The highlander". Queen did the whole score.

A spellbinding performance!!! Delta can definitely bring the theatrics to a song if required. She actually starred in the Australian musical theatre production of 'Cats' in 2015-2016. It was her first time in theatre and she played the lead role of Grizabella. Her portrayal of the character was exquisite. If you want to check out the song please refer to either videos 'Memory' (live Sydney 28/10/16 on tour) or (live Cats Australia - musical performance). Also her song 'Heavy' is definitely worth a look. Also should you be interested VK there is another performance by Delta of Freddie's song in 2022 on tour in Melbourne. In that performance she is without piano so the vibe is different and I think it is even better vocally, if that's possible. Note The Global Citizen was in 2021. FYI: John's late manager Glenn Wheatley (RIP) discovered Delta and launched her career. Delta said she remembers Glenn calling her family about her music after hearing a demo CD from when she was 13, just amazing. Glenn certainly had an ear for talent!
