Shaun Livingston was a beast midrange shooter. I remember him always pulling up near the free throw line shooting right over JR smith in them finals. I was like damnnn this dude never misses!

Melo's midrange game was LETHAL. Mans could do it in the post, off the dribble, and had the best face up midrange shot I've ever seen. Brandon Roy is another midrange god, and KD is of course great.

People forget how nice Shaun Livingston's midrange jumper was, specially when he was with the Warriors. I'd put him in my PG. Then MJ, Paul Pierce, Melo, and Lamarcus Aldridge.

Love the list they had. They wanted to prioritize players who had all the moves at mid-range. Not only just catch and shoot players or using 2-3 screens to get a good look. They obviously focused on players who could do almost any move to get a bucket at mid-range. Whether if it was a post-up, jab step, fade away, shoulder turn, drop step, single dribble to shot, footwork, etc., they were able to use almost any move to create space for a good shot. And you would have no idea which move they would choose from. It's the kind of player that you would dread guarding in isolation. Once you're stuck on that island, you're doomed.

Larry Bird is thought of now as a 3 point shooter because of highlights and the 3 point contest. He actually shot less than 2 3s per game most of his career. He has to be on this list. He was called a long range shooter because it WAS long range for the time but midrange was his best aspect by far.

It’s tough to take only 5 cus there have been so many mid range monsters in the history of the league. For awhile there the mid range shot wasn’t getting used much it was either you score in the paint or hit threes but it’s starting to come back now

You could argue the term ‘midrange’ doesn’t extend to all two point shots and that midrange is only just outside the free throw line. Other 2 point shots are often called long 2’s

Kyrie Irving has to be pretty up there too for Point Guards. I know he's not in favor these days, I'm not a fan either and I think there are so many issues with him both on and off the court, but the dude's midrange game is pretty deadly. Other PGs have to include Oscar Robertson, Steve Nash, Shaun Livingston, Sam Cassell, Tony Parker.

Brandon Roy is so slept on. I’m surprised Danny Granger didn’t get a mention as he seemed intent on standing against the 3PT revolution by taking the earliest/most contested 18fters 😂😂😂 MJ was always insane cuz of his ability to hang after an unseen vertical, but god damn it’s almost even more insane to have that level of dominance in the 2nd 3-peat where he had lost a little bit of his step/burst/athleticism while the entire league go so much better from 86 to 95. Dirk is an all timer and all time big who changed the game without having the defensive switchability or elite rim protection, but his damn LaMarcus Aldridge don’t miss that shit and it seems so easy to him.

David West, Maurice Speights, Jamal Crawford, Shaun Livingston, Duncan, Dirk, wade, just a few that always felt automatic from midrange. Obviously some of these players on this list are role players but when it mattered, especially in intense play off games I was always blow away by their efficiency and how they didn’t seem to miss. I wonder who else I should list? Anyone else that should be here, especially underrated/ easily overlooked players like David West.?

In the last 25 seasons, KD has three of the most accurate seasons from the mid-range in his name. I don't know how long statistic has been collected, so KD probably leads the all-time stat.

-- There's dozens of midrange specialist who can be a Top 5 kind of guy: Wade, Shaun Livingston [SL], etc. But Wade was incredible dunker so we tend to forget his midrange. And SL? He had a shortened peak so we forget him a lot. But SL coming off the bench for GSW was money.

At point guard CP is the only option. At the 2 you can choose Kobe and Mike At the 3 you can choose Kawhi and DeMar At the 4 you can choose Dirk or Tim At the 5 you can choose Aldridge or Jokic.

The midrange shot seems like it’s so undervalued in todays game sometimes. I’ve seen younger players that are left wide open from midrange but decide to go drive instead.
