This narrative that the Kings don't play defense keeps getting parroted by the media, who clearly haven't watched much of the Kings lately. They finished top 10 in defense, but like the video said, once they inserted Keon Ellis into the starting lineup, they got to top 4 in defense (in March) when teams were really pushing for the playoffs. Their BIGGEST problem is that they couldn't close out games. They had the most blown leads in the league because they go cold for stretches when the 3 stops falling allowing opposing defenses can just close in on Fox and Sabonis. The next biggest problem is freethrows. They also held the league worst FT% for a chunk of the 23-24 season. DeRozan is going to help them out a ton on both of these fronts. Fixing freethrows ALONE would have netted the Kings at least 3 more wins last season (off the top of my head) and got them into better playoff seeding.

Heurter 's value needs rebuilt first. Kings must trade to return some 2025 picks @ trade deadline.

@@jalynjones9136because monk needs to start. And ellis is more valuable than huerter (has a bunch of potential that needs development). Same for Carter, although he might be injured for a bit. So I wouldn't mind keeping huerter until the deadline

@@YoBrand15he is more valuable off the bench. Huerter starting allowed Monk to have success. Not sure why so much hate for Huerter. He is a 40% shooter that does well in the Kings system. He improved on the defensive end. This talk is typical Kings fan bs. Who would you pair with Huerter that will improve the Kings? Huerter and first picks for the next decade isn’t worth it.

I think what a lot of people don’t realize when talking about the Kings is HOW they got to 46 wins last year. They easily should have been a 50+ win team but they blew the most 20 point leads in the league, and were the worst free throw shooting team in the league. There was a span where they blew a 20 point lead over Milwaukee and then the next day blew a 26 point lead over the Suns in 6 minutes. They could not close games and it hurt them BAD. They had prob 10 games where free throws cost them a win. That’s part of basketball, but it shows that they had potential to be very very good, but came up short because of some underlying issues. DeMar will be massive for them, especially in closing games. If they can go get someone else like DFS or somehow land Lauri, watch tf out. Team will be nasty.

Play in ? The Kings were in 4th place before injuries plus fox injuries throughout the Year and held 20 point leads in several games. Makes Zero sense from you haters

For those argue the Kings are small, you seems to ignored that the defending champ Celtics starting five for the playoff were 6'4",6'4",6'6",6'8",and 6'9". What really matters are the players on the floor able to make things happen!

As a Kings fan, I'm cautiously optimistic about this move, as I'm still somewhat worried about the spacing. But I'm not sure about how you say the Nuggets are one of the tops in the West. They lost Bruce Brown last year and took a hit. This year they lost KCP and this has to hurt, especially when it seems like they aren't replacing him with anyone similar. I'm not expecting them to free fall, but more like the middle of the pack.

The issue with the kings though is we rely on the 3 too much.. I wouldn't mind them taking less 3s. This move gives us more versatility on offense imo. And he still CAN space the floor. Can hit open 3s and elite at long 2s

Thank goodness Kings are as unselfish a team as they come and Fox and Domas are easily two of the most unselfish stars in the game. Fox, DD, Monk, Keegan those are all some big shot makers

Yeah and having DeRozan allows Fox to pass to him if he gets doubled. The problem was teams would trap Fox and he has to pass to Barnes to brick.

Man stop it demar ain’t no 4th option he’s comfortably the 2nd option and on some nights he’ll be the 1st option again sabonis is great but he can’t score and create like demar sabonis is always gonna fill the stat sheet but he’s never been a guy that u give the ball to and say go get a bucket that’s not him and monk will be great off the bench again but he ain’t no damn option over demar and he ain’t gonna get more shots than demar lol I agree w everything else u said tho 🫡 fox & demar will lead the team in shot attempts

Nothing scary about the Sacramento Kings both guards have to have the ball they don't play defense The Rock and rolls and has to have the Baltimore majority of the time the kings are a regular team they're trying to make their fans happy and that's about it they're not everyone in the championship so please quit pumping it up to sell tickets

I really don't know why all kings fans think derozan will make a season changing direction for this team. I can say for sure it wont happen. they are many players away from next level. they have no defense at all. no rim protectors. what does that meanl. you will lose to the bigger longer teams like always. Mcnair is dreaming if he thinks otherwise. get rid of softy Murray, and huerter for starters. they will never get you to that elite level. Bring in some dawgs. that's it. then sac is moving forward.

Okay, you're still working on 22-23 narrative. Kings finished 10th in defense last year. Not the best defense, but also not the worse. Championship teams can finish with middle of the pack defense. But bc de'aaron was out the first half of the season, and then lost huerter and monk the last half, their offense also took a hit. They went from #1 offense to 15. Barring any injuries this year, their offense should go back up. And to add, Demar may not fix any of the Kings weaknesses, but he will strengthen the already deadly offense the Kings have.
