They keep repeating the 200 figure when it's long ago been established they didn't kill nearly that many. A lot for sure, but not 200. This stuff gets so overblown it becomes legendary and accepted as fact. They've done the same thing with Greg Scarpa.

Exactly. Franzese said that, how are there 200 people available for each guy to kill, there’d be no mobsters left. I very much agree that the demeo crew could have hit 100, but scarpa, sonny etc, I doubt they got near 50/60. Scarpa has what, 3 or 4 during the war, the girl ally boy was with that I can think of off the top of my head, who were all these other supposed victims

Ross: Paul ordered the 1983 hit on Roy DeMeo because DeMeo was about to get pinched and the Gambino's were afraid he'd crack and ask for a deal. Do you have any insight into Roy DeMeo's character that would explain why the Gambino Administration suspected that? A real Cosa Nostra guy does his time and keeps his mouth shut. What was it about Roy that made them think otherwise?

Roy never did time at all. Maybe a bullshit charge. But no one knew who Roy D was or what he did. Just stories after the facts. Dominic got pulled in by the feds. No arrest but he had a bad habit.Nino took a long long vacation. Then the domino effect happened in a matter of twelve months.

The DeMeo Crew terrified all of the most terrifying gangs and crews in the crime world from 1972-1982. This Mafia Crew was so horrifying that would not believe that they really existed but they really did exist. The actual number of their work was 250-1000. Government stopped counting after 250 because this case was so insane. They not only did mafia hits but many people went missing after staying after hours at their hangout the Gemini Lounge and these people were used for hunting in order to keep the crew sharp with their craft.
