I’m an addict and I was at Saddle Ranch the same night as Demi on the night she overdosed. I just happened to be there for the first time that night. I’ve been a fan of hers since 2007 and had only just moved so LA from Connecticut a few months earlier to go to rehab but I got kicked out. I was starstruck but I was also hammered and high out of my mind and got in a fight with an old drunk woman and got the boot. I was devastated by her OD and couldn’t believe I’d just seen her the night before. It was surreal and felt like a sign and I decided to finally get sober the following day. I tripped up a bit but I’ve been sober since October 2018. I still struggle with my ED and it’s a daily battle. 2020 was hard for everyone but it’s a miracle I didn’t relapse, it’s a miracle every day. I’m just so glad that Demi is still here, “California Sober” or not. 🖤🦋

I have chronic pain, and every day is different. I am glad Demi is still alive.

It’s so easy for people to shame people like Demi, but unless you have had real addiction problems then you will never know the Hell that people go through. I just finished with my dance. I'm so very thankful to Demi has the courage and the spirituality to sing about what she's been through knowing that others are going through it and are finishing their trial and beginning a new one. It's songs like this that give you the ability to see what you've done allow your emotions to be there pay homage to them and rededicate yourself to the God that loves you and that knows you and that sees you.

It was so difficult to finish listening the song. The song speaks to my soul and I feel like I would fall into depression if I hear it again. Just like Sober and Anyone, Demi is making songs that are very very difficult for me to listen to them again because it just reminds me of a past that I don't want to go back to.
