Yup! It took me 2 years however. I'd stopped watching the news because all it ever was was about bashing Trump. So when I flipped on the news and realized they were still bashing Trump it made me start to research. I thought back to how it had been a bashing feat since day 1 of his presidency! It was unheard of. I've learned more than I ever wanted to. Like the Smith-Mundt act how in 2012 Obama made it legal to use propaganda against US citizens. To downright lie to us! Because the country always regresses under Republican leadership. 10 of the last 11 recessions dating back to 1953 started under republican leadership. A dem then gets elected, takes yrs to course correct (while the Republicans say they are doing nothing), the country finally gets stabilized, economy atarts firing on all cylinders, job growth hits new highs, unemployment reaches record lows, and then people vote, for some reason, for a republican again and the whole circle repeats.

@markupton1417 the economy does not always start over. One of the first things we learn about in economics class the the inertial effect of the economy. In other words, an economy moving in a certain direction tends to stay moving in that direction unless acted upon by an opposing force (new tax plans, global disasters, war, etc). Depending on the opposing force, the impact on the economy can be relatively quick or it can take some time to realize. Let's look at Clinton, George Bush, Obama, and Trump as an example. When Clinton left office, the economy was booming and we actually had a surplus. His final 4 yrs were balanced budgets with surpluses. It cannot be overstated how impressive that is. Then Bush takes office, and due to his tax cuts, the deficit skyrocketed by reducing revenue by nearly 2 trillion from 2002-2009. The war on terror certainly didn't help causes as well. Economy was in a bad place now. Enter Obama. He had a very tough scenario to work with. The economic inertial force was trending negatively. Undoing that takes a lot of work. He also added significantly to the deficit, but it harkens back to the old adage "you gotta spend money to make money." We were already in a hole and had to claw out of it. By the end of Obama's 8 yrs the stock market had never been higher (for the time), unemployment was greatly diminished, and the economy was firing on all cylinders. It took 8 yrs of policies to get us back on track. The positive inertial effect of the economy was in full swing. In other words, any president that followed up would benefit from this ride as the economic trends would continue to fly high. Now enter Trump. This is not a knock against Trump at all. Any presidential hopeful would kill to enter office under such favorable terms. But what it also means is that you could have been president, I could have been president, my dog could have been president, and the economy would have continued to thrive. Trump was able to keep this trend going through deregulation but his further tax cuts to the wealthy and billion dollar corporations continued to greatly add to the deficit at the expense of the everyday American. Then of course covid hit and everything tumbled. We now find ourselves in the aftermath if covid. The US economy is once again strong (despite what propaganda will tell you). The US economy is outperforming every other G7 nation by a considerable margin proportionatly. Stock market is closing at record highs everyday (check your 401k if you don't believe me), unemployment is at record lows, and inflation is back to a normal level, the US is also drilling for and producing more oil than any other nation in world history. Unfortunately, the biggest effect we are seeing on our day to day life is the price gouging of corporations (which also plays a part on why our 401ks are exploding. But if a dou ke edged sword really). Price gouging corporations is as American as Apple pie though sadly. That's the free market. That's capitalism, baby.
