Okay lets be honest here. Compared to Top Gear USA usual standards, this video is really, really good and fun to watch. I really liked the side tires on that SUV.

Earlier in the episode, Rutledge is driving a '62 Corvair, but during the demolition derby he's driving a different car, a 1963. Same colour, not the same car.

Definitely staged. Caught fire minutes after everything was done. I wont try to downplay the safety issue with the Pinto though. They were known to have exploding gas tanks when rear ended due to the shitty position of the tank.

In a fit of desperation(due to my previous car rusting out) I bought a stationwagon from a demolition derby. And after re-making it street legal, that car lasted me 16 years, and thus longer than any other used car I have ever bought! LOL!

U don’t get it do u, just cuz they were shit when they were built and still r now, doesn’t mean they ain’t what I said they r, a perfectly good classic isn’t necessarily a good car, it’s a classic that hasn’t rotted away, the ones that managed to live on and to this day look as new as they did when they rolled off the assembly lines, but u clearly don’t understand that do u

I think the reason why people complain about it is because Top Gear US is on the Top Gear UK's channel, they subscribed to watch Top Gear UK and they hate how Top Gear US keeps on showing up in their subscriptions. If they made a separate channel then the problem will be solved.

top gear is also mainly a entertainment show now it never used to be but as it became more popular they have to make the program for all types of viewers

The downvoting is getting ridiculous. I watch both UK and US Top Gears and they each have their own taste. I watch UK to get a real in depth car analysis and actually learn about the car. US is more of a dumb-fun with cars kinda show. Still fun to watch even though it's scripted (UK is scripted too so don't even argue). Seriously, if you just don't like the US version, then why the hell are you commenting on this video? Go watch the UK videos. You guys need to get a freaking life.
