Works on latest patch 1.004.000

Here are step by step instructions:
Step 1, have a bow with no arrows equipped.
Step 2, equip a consumable item you wish to dupe on the first slot in the hotbar, as well as at least 1 other item (the glitch does not work if you only have 1 item in the hotbar).
Step 3, press R2 to fire the empty bow, and almost at the same time press square to use the item in the hotbar (you have to press square 2 or 3 times in order to queue the item use).
Step 4, open the menu and press UP to go to the hotbar, then press square to unequip the item that is queued for use.
Step 5, press R1 to go to inventory and then X to select the item, and X again to send it to storage (beforehand you have to organize your inventory so that the item you wish to duplicate is at the top or bottom of the list).
You have roughly 2.2 seconds for all these steps so practice with low value items like the cheapest healing grass.
The only tutorial I found of this was a short that did a poor job of explaining the details of this glitch, so I made one myself. Enjoy!

Some commonly asked questions and answers: Does it still work? Yes, the last patch 1.004.000 was released in Dec 2020. How fast do you have to be? You have 2.2 seconds from the bow R1 to storage send. Does it work with boss souls? No, boss souls can't be equipped and have a confirmation window. How exactly does this dupe the item? The glitch sends the item to storage before it is used up, resulting in you using the item without losing it. What can you dupe with this glitch? Only consumable items that can be equipped to the quick use hotbar, with the exception of Archstone Shards since those have a confirmation window. Help it doesn't work for me, patched? No it's not patched, make sure you follow all the steps including having at least 1 other item in the hotbar, and unequipping the item you're trying to use from hotbar. ------------------------------------------------------ Here are step by step instructions: Step 1, have a bow with no arrows equipped. If you do this exploit and press USE instead of send to deposit, you will use the item twice. Soul items will give twice the amount they are supposed to. Just found out about this while attempting the exploit.

Neat. This could be useful for turning worlds to black tendency since it effectively gives you infinite Ephemeral Eyes. Would also be good for early soul farming. Leechmonger isn't that hard, and once you get past him and into 5-2 you can grab the Legendary Hero Soul in that area and dupe it for 10k souls each.

Yep, this was a thing in every FromSoft game… but with all the players in dark souls complaining about it being in the game, is why they took it out. This is useful in NG+ or after creating a new character.

@@soulsemblance3163 was talking about DARK Souls, they patched the Soul Glitch many times because of players whining and crying. They left it in for us to find so when creating a new character it won’t be so mundane to completely playthrough just to PVP. Of course there are ways around this, but not back then when game first came out. Demon’s Souls PS3 can Duplicate ANY CONSUMABLE AND UPGRADE MATERIAL DeS PS5 🤷🏻‍♂️ have not played yet unfortunately

Still works as of 1/15/23. I practiced by hitting all the buttons, except for square, to get that muscle memory down. Once i felt confident enough, i went for it, and you HAVE to be quick! Use items that are of no consequence to you, like warrior souls that provide you with 4 - 800 souls. I'm on a NG+ run, and the spike in difficulty makes me think I'm on NG+3 or higher. So i greatly appreciate this, and how you explained everything as well. Thank you!

I ask because this was my first souls game and I did a horrible job on stats and leveling choices and am now in a NG+ run where I do so little damage and get one shot by most enemies so I wanna use this glitch to fix my stuff and play the game again

Still works 4/24/23 I’ve found it most consistent if you hit square 3 times. You will know it’s done correctly if by the time you hit send to storage and exit the menu and your character is raising their hand to consume soul. Practice with grass

when I click to send the item, it does not disappear from the inventory, it only disappears when I close it but it does not appear again, what could I be doing wrong??

@@guilherme_schiffer2395 If you did the unequip step and have an extra item in hotbar then it's possible you're not doing it fast enough. Record your attempts with the PS5 and see how fast you do it, you have about 2.2 seconds from the bow R2 to the storage send.

AAYYYEEE!! This is similar to the duplication glitch in the PS3 demon souls. Using the blacksmith to duplicate items. I tried it a few times and I see you gotta be REEEEALLY fucking fast with the button presses to send it to the storage before the animation uses the souls.

Yup, luckily you have roughly 0.5 seconds of extra time so it's not frame perfect, you can get pretty consistent with it, definitely need to practice it first on low value items though before risking rare souls.

No it doesn't seem to, toolbelt item use button is triangle, and is seems to queue the "2 handing" function instead of item use when trying to store the item.

nope, all the sorting options reset after closing the menu, so you have to send everything above ephemeral eyes to storage.

When I do it it doesn’t use an item but I don’t gain an item. I go to my storage and I have the same amount as before I used one for the glitch. Am I possibly doing something wrong? Also, when I put a soul from my storage to inventory it goes in between the other items and boss souls. I can’t put the black eye stone and a few other items in my storage so is there a way to get it to the top without having to use boss souls to get it to the bottom?

It sounds like you dont have an extra item in the hotbar, the glitch needs another item in the hotbar to work, any item. ps this is a "use the item without losing it" kind of duping. Unfortunately all the sorting options reset after exiting the menu, so you have to send your other items to storage in order to set up for the glitch, regular souls should be below online items, and ephemeral eyes should be above iirc.

Yup, a good way is to use lowest tier grass, and drop a bunch on the ground 1 at a time, in order to not go to Thomas every time.

Only consumable items, if you want to dupe stones you need to back up your save and trade with someone, then reload the save. Don't ask me though, I don't play this game anymore.

Could you put the soul at the top of your inventory list? So you don't have to hit the up button to send to storage? Or do the souls have to be at the bottom of your inventory list?

Souls are below the non removable online items, and all sorting options reset when exiting menu, so you have to send other items to storage so that the soul you wish to dupe ends up at the bottom. And stone of ephemeral eyes is above online items, so you have to send all the healing items to storage so it ends up at the top.

Does it still work? Because for me I can get it to send to storage but then I don't get the souls. Otherwise when I do it it consumes the soul and doesn't duplicate but doesn't give me souls. What am I doing wrong?

@@vegetaza2384 For the 1st problem it sounds like item use wasn't queued. For the 2nd idk, the game doesn't consume items without giving effects, you must have discovered some new bug that no one else has.

Ya es tarde, pero aquí te anuncio como funciona: Debes tener un arco, No importa si puedes usarlo con estadísticas o no. Solo tenerlo equipado y sin flechas, Aquí te recomiendo que lo hagas y platiques con hierba, debes tener hierba y si tienes 10 haz de guardar 9 y dejar 1 para luego equiparla en inventario rápido abajo, por último paso importante para que se realice el Glitch, debes disparar y esperar medio segundo y darle al cuadrado en ese momento vas a pausa y rápido al inventario para darle a la hierba y mandarla al almacenamiento. Y como eran 9 las que guardaste la que usaste se guardo y como resultado ahora son 10. Intenta con hierba hasta que le pilles el tiempo exacto. 👌

Yes, the newest patch for this game is from December 2020. Some tips for easier learning: practice with cheapest healing grass, and drop a bunch of grass on the ground 1 at a time, so that you don't need to go to Thomas after every attempt. Also, record your attempts with the PS5 to see how you do. You have 2.2 seconds from the bow R1 to the storage send.

Are you sure you have another item in the hotbar? A good way to learn this glitch is to drop a bunch of lowest tier grass on the ground 1 at a time, so you can pick it up without going to Thomas every time.

Yes it works. Digital and disc are the same with updates installed, and 1.004.000 came out in December 2020 and is the last patch for this game, I made this video almost 2 years after the last patch.

With this glitch you indeed use the item but also send it to storage. If you just use it and cant send it to storage first, and did all the steps correctly then youre likely not doing it fast enough, you have 2.2 sec from the bow r1 to storage send. You can record your attempts with the ps5 and see whats happening.

Nope, with this glitch one can only get a free use out of consumable items. If you want to dupe equipment you need to trade/quit with a friend, there are plenty of other tutorials for that.

No, the glitch lets you use an item from the hotbar without losing the item, and you can only use 1 item at a time. As far as sending a stack to storage idk, I'm not fast enough for the extra steps.

No, the item that you end up using is the one in the hotbar, so it's only 1 at a time. Someone in the comments said that when sending to storage you can use the item instead of storing, in which case you get a double effect of the item, but then you just lose the item as intended.

Yep, but at 10,000 per glitch it's still gonna take a while, and it's easy to mess up and lose the soul, so back up your save every 10 min or so.

I could never get this to work even If I tried for years. Too complicated lol. I am that dude who needs it easy or don't bother. Not saying anything bad. But all I would do is waste the items

I learned this glitch with the cheapest healing grass, also if you're still gonna practice it then drop a bunch of grass on the ground 1 at a time, that way you can pick them up after every attempt, instead of going to Thomas every time, saves some time.

Patched ps5 for sure. Definitely fast enough but item stays and won't go into storage, then disappears

did you make sure to unequip it? If you did then maybe you just didn’t do it right. I did it not that long ago

You either didn't unequip the item, or don't have another item in the hotbar.

no not patched, make sure you have another item in the hotbar, and don't forget the unequip step, or if you're not using the item at all then you need to mash square a few times to queue it.

Last patch was in Dec 2020. It always worked, is working, and always will work (until they re remake it for ps7 or whatever). It sounds like you didn't queue item use. If you didn't get the souls and the item is no longer in inventory then you sent it to storage, this glitch doesn't disappear items. Record your attempts with the ps5 and see what you're doing wrong.

Nah same thing happens to me if i dont do it fast enough. Im sure you dont care since the game is this old and you’re certain it works since the there is no game update. Now that i got some reps in, now the item dont even get used. Id double press square to use item, remove then send to storage and my character would be doing the looking for item animation instead of using the item. I’ll figure it out eventually

@@kooliemar1349 Sounds like you don't have an additional item equipped, if so then it's just sent to storage. When I was learning the glitch I did everything wrong, and the item never gets lost, it either gets used and losed as intended or simply sent to storage.
