Because that was his natural body. He was born with the mark. He invented Sun breathing but no one could ever truly replicate it. So it’s been Branched off to every other style. And those Yoorichi is never truly pushing his body. It’s his natural state. Awakening the mark for a normal person is pushing their body to inhuman levels. A body temperature that high, a heartbeat that fast, and hyperventilating that much should kill you the second it happens.

You forget though, that Gyomei had only activated it once and that was only for the final battles, and even stated that he probably had a few hours at best since he was over the age of 25. After the battle was finished and he deactivated the mark he passed away. There is no in between. 25 and that's it you're croaking. Until the author IF the author ever gives specifics that's that. If I had to guess though, it's probably more a spiritual thing like muzans ancestors curse than physical. Just like they were cursed to die early and with disease for spawning muzan, the slayer mark gives you superhuman abilities for the price of your lifespan. This story did have massive spiritual ties to things so who knows...

You gotta keep in mind that despite Gyomei was over 25, we never actually saw him with any heart related type problems after activating the mark up until right before his death (im not a doctor so maybe he did but still). Even though this story has its supernatural type aspects, it's still semi-realistic, and its highly unlikely that a bulky, extremely trained, seasoned veteran demon slayer like Gyomei would drop dead after killing Muzan if he didn't have such life threatening injuries. Besides, he even trained to activate it before the fight with Kokushibo, like he even said "I was saving this for the battle with Muzan, but I got to lose using it here!", Meaning he knew that the more he used the mark, the more likely he'd have heart problems. And if you're wondering how he activated it outside battle, keep in mind that it doesn't necessarily have to be a battle, just a life or death scenario. And what is Gyomei's training regime? Exactly, a hellish training where we saw Inosuke litterally drowned and Tanjiro almost dying to dehydration. So it's not unreasonable to assume Gyomei upped his training to where he almost died, achieving the mark, but not using it because he was passed 25 years old and afraid he'd die too early before the battle with Muzan.

The life span of the mark could have something to do with the breathing style, as clearly evidenced that the mark takes the shape of whatever breathing style the user has. So perhaps the breathing style also affects how the user's lifespan will turn out. If each breathing style is derivative of sun breathing, logically it would also mean that each person who receives a mark would have an *incomplete* mark, due to having also the breathing style be incomplete. So if a sun breather were to recieve the mark of a sun breather, then all aspects of the mark are gained and sun breathing counteracts the disadvantage(s) of the mark.

Then there's also the possibility that the reason why tanjiro was able to survive being in the sun despite being the new demon king, was that *he was already a sun breather* so the aspects of the sun were already present in his body prior to turning into a demon. Like rank 1 upper moon has the moon breathing mark and his blood demon art becoming similar to moon breathing. Perhaps tanjiros blood demon art would be enhanced sun breathing. *theoretically*

Gyomei can be argued to have died from it. Tanjuro is heavily implied to have died from it. And Tanjiro as well. And then a ton of people died from it back in the day, it wasn't limited to people with black blades. And the reason people with black blades died was because Muzan hunted them down, not because they learned the wrong style, in fact, they knew the right one.

The only people we see with a black blade were Tanjiro, and Yoichi. And it's specifically stated that Those with black blades could never Settle on a breathing style, Implying the ones they learned didn't suit them.
