Nezuko put all her Stats and Dice Rolls into getting the "Daywalker" perk over the past couple years instead of picking the "Regain Wisdom" option. To be fair, it worked out in this episode. Took her a solid minute of sun exposure before it even kicked in!

This is already my favorite Demon Slayer episode ever. The animation and music were S-Tier. Nezuko made me cry like never before. What an emotional roller coaster of an episode. Absolute masterpiece, 10/10.

The thing is with demon slayer, its simple. Thats it. The plot is straight to the point, it depends on whether you remember the small details or not. Despite it being simple, some ppl still failed to grasp it fully. Ppl are so used to complicated anime that they wanted more, but ds is refreshing for me cuz i can focus more on the visual, voice acting and sad things.

The only thing I get from your reviews of this show is that "Demon Slayer is Demon Slayer. It's Demon Slayer!" It can't be anything other than that, no matter what. Did you mean Demon Slayer is all about animation and action? but people do cry over it, which means there are emotions in this story. I could be wrong about this, but the point "Tanjiro just tries harder and shit worked out...?" isn't true for every Shonen anime we've ever seen: "Naruto just tries harder and shit worked out", "Luffy just tries harder and shit worked out,"...

it's very interesting to see how the hardcore anime community is split on the KnY series. Sure it's flashy and it has received an excellent adaptation courtesy ufotable but is it really bad? Definitely not. Like many others have constantly mentioned - it's a simple story that's executed really well. There are really well written characters especially in the second half of the story but all that's not what KnY excels at. KnY's usp are its emotional moments. They do those really well. And emotions resonate well with the general public than a multilayered complicated plot. And there's nothing wrong with that. There are a lot of such emotional messages littered througout the story. If you pick on those, it actually helps you appreciate the characters and the story more. If you don't, it simply won't fancy you and you'll end up thinking it's just 'mindless fun/action'.

Feel like you're kind of underselling the show, it's good because it's simple, not in spite of that. Nails the emotional moments and perfectly encapsulates what shonen is supposed to be about (sometimes heart is more important that trying to be or do something "more")

Watching 10 shonens may make you want more of complicated twists and plot points in the next shonen you watch. But watching 10 more shonens with those twists makes you want to see something just simple and clear.

10:42 when I first watched this season, I got SO incredibly annoyed by the weasel Hantengu. I even questioned the writing of it at first. But I realized that it is very in line with who the backstory showed him to be when he was human. He was constantly avoiding blame, shifting it onto others or even just his own hands acting autonomously; he was a coward who constantly ran away from accepting the consequences of his own actions. So of course it makes sense for his demon form to be a clusterf*ck of different manifestations sprouting into existence. He’s continuing that desperate fleeing that was the core of who he was as a human. That victimhood mentality along with his disconnection from the harm he does onto others makes him a truly horrifying villain. I was with Tanjiro when he kept telling him to face his responsibilities. It was funny, yes, but I also understood where he was coming from. That frustration of Hantengu constantly eluding having to face any major consequences for the pain and suffering he has caused-although you could argue that his transformation into a demon was also a consequence, it’s just that it was a consequence that enabled him to continue causing even greater harm to others-and just the fact that he flat out denies it. Infuriating, truly. But hey, he’s got some serious karma to balance out in his upcoming incarnations.

I watch a lot of shounen from naruto, death note, hunter x hunter, onepiece, fairytale, aot, bleach, jujutsu kaizen etc.... Theyre great but still i love ds. Maybe im more into animation, cool effects of every breathing technique and simple story

having questions is okay, demanding answers right away is big no no. amazed by what happen on screen is okay, confused yourself isn't necessary. I think those are the fundamental to be able to absorb yourself to the show you watch, (maybe also respect someone in the show talking, watch the show fully to absorb informations as much as possible, less joking or denying informations throwing at you, treat informations as information) the shows isn't over yet, there are so much left to adapt. lets enjoy the show together. ( I Imagine if we watch monogatari series for example with the mentality like that, your head would explode?)

Eh. There is a reason for everything that happens in this series. I don’t really understand how hard it is to get it when ppl claim the series is just so simple. Maybe it’s because I’m a manga reader. Answers are revealed later. You don’t get instant gratification and instant answers, like with many series. Like there is literally a logical in universe explanation for everything that takes place. Also, the anime cuts out many explanations that would probably help

Thanks for the great reactions! While I don't necessarily agree on the harsher critique I can definitely see your points and I think they're valid. The pacing of season 2 was definitely better, I kinda got burned out on the villains over time and I would have preferred a bit more story before / in between the endless fight scenes. Having them engage completely so early on and keeping them around till the finale kinda hurt the depth and scariness of them. Combined with all the fake outs it just felt a bit off with what's at stake here. I wish they added a bit more overarching story, like 2 upper demons are dead, nezuko can talk and stay in the sun and tanjiro deserves a promotion. I guess they could put it in another extra long intro episode next season The animation and sound was absolutely insane though and I loved the nezuko and tanjiro moments, as well as the refreshing "new" characters. I think there's a lot of buildup here as we're getting closer to the finale so things might be a little awkward before we head into the crazy upper rank shit. All in all it's still a huge W for me and I enjoyed the show a lot for what it is.

Season 3 is more about backstory and character development.. Not just about fighting action like season 2 So i understand why alot of people dissapointed in season 3

There was no tention because firstly, gyokko was not taking it seriously. Secondly, you have no idea how strong the mark is, Muichiro is way stronger then Uzui.

After watching Mugen train in the theaters. i immediately read the manga. i always came back to the anime with moderate expectation. in Carson's words: Demon Slayer is Demon Slayer. But knowing Ufotable. the animation saved the series for me! tuning in every sunday was always a treat. i've enjoyed this series as an anime more than as a manga!

I actually like season 3 more I think season 2 i was there then midway i fell of a bit when daiki was getting her ass beat by tanjiro nezuko and humilated by tengen as the first upper demon because i thought that was very dissapointing, until gyutaro showed up and then the ending of season 2 is what made it so strong for m. Also the way the powers of having to behead both made it interesting for the first time.. Season 3 i feel like it held on to me earlier and more and kept me longer for the ride. And yes here the haxes were the same but more tedious where it takes a lot to kill i will say here it was more tedious but i think it held my interest more consistently.

This season was centered around nezuko's reveal and it didn't had the goats zenitsu and inosuke but it was great. Those demons was meant to be annoying and I guess they filled in great. However I did agree that it missed the deep sht from season 2 like back story and fewer joke/humor moments, but now the reveal is done and it's wrapped the next season will have no chill. It'll start out with a bang, now the spotlight is on supper 3 to 1 and on muzan so I'm excited.

I will say this season is the calm before all hell breaks loose. Next season should be the Hashira training arc and then straight into Infinity Castle Arc. I do wonder if they will end next season on a Part 2, way too many stories and battles for one season. Also Muzan can spy on EVERY demon that has his blood, he can also read their thoughts if they're close enough. That's why he knew no one was really looking for the Blue Spider Lily or the demon slayer head quarters, when he complained to his Upper Moons about it. He could also see into their minds, just like he did for the Lower Moons and saw how they all fled from the Hashira's instead of fighting them.

one thing with nezuko's power to conquer the sun is that it has been hinted many times before that muzan was for some reason we didn't know multiplying his troupes nonstop for 1000 years, and also that nezuko for some reason had been given way more of muzan's blood than what was normally given to other demons at transformation, somewhat implying that she was special or could be special in some way, i don't love the fact that she survived the sun, but i also don't think it was a total asspull

When you watch shonen like naruto, DS, One punch man, Baki etc, don't expect it to be narratively deep and well thought like steins gate, AoT, Vinland Saga, Beserk, Vegabond etc. Demon Slayer has simple straight forward great story with many good characters, great music and peak animation. That's it. If you can accept just that, you will have a blast with Demon slayer. I think manga readers and audiences accepted it since season 1. That's why demon slayer blow up so early compare to other shonen. I mean mugen train movie grossed half billion dollers. No other anime made this much money from a single movie.

I'm a kind of person like Carlson for always looking into some depth from stories, to break it down and enjoy looking into big ideas and in details. It's not gonna have all that elements I usually looking for when I watching things, but for Demon Slayer, I'm totally fine with it. As Carlson said, to watch it for what it is. Because another Shounen anime will be a lot. more depth, big idea, details in terms of storytelling. But, yeah, I'm fine with Demon Slayer, and I'm enjoy a lot more. I don't know why people comment like BOLDCAST tried to insult it, I felt like they have their criteria for all stories they've watched, and they just enjoy it as what it is.

In season two, we got good villans. With sad backstory, and their actions were kinda motivated, still evil, bad, and wrong, but at least in some sense understandable? In this season, we got Gyokko, who basically did nothing, and got no backstory whatsoever. And Hantengu, who was just two annoying bad person, both as human, and as a demon. It was okay season, but second and first were better. But Mu in Muichiro, was one of the best episodes in the show. I was prepared for action, instead i got mostly backstory, but it was great. Hope next seasons will be more like episode with Muichiro, and less like well rest of the season xD

I think it was on purpose, Main thing of main body of his, was being scared. his whole character was based on running away from responsibility, just like he does in his life. That one annoying person, who always rats his way out, of everything he does. So I guess he was made to be annoying little s, till he finnaly get what he deserved. Also Its kinda funny that he basically killed himself by being cowardly. If he would stay alongside Zohakuten (final strongest form) he would probably be harder to kill. Since Zohakuten would protect him, and Mitsuri, despite her strenght would have to face it alone, or protect Tanjiro, and Genya, while they try to get to him. Running away from his protector, was probably stupidest thing he could have done, but was also so fit into his character. Im just Glad that noone died this time, and noone got severly wounded for life.

This arc is less exciting than the last arc. This arc brings very important information, but the best arcs are yet to come, both in terms of battles and emotion. And if this fight was tiring for you due to the amount of "almosts", you won't be able to withstand the battles against the upper moons 1 and 3 and the final battle with Muzan. When you finish reading the manga, you get the broken feeling, the body feels exhausted and simply relieved that the whole story is over, with all the death and suffering.

Those comments are so fc stupid. Gigguk made a really poor video about why Demon Slayer is so good. Because „iT Is kEEpInG SiMplE.“ A pretty cheap way to defend this show. And now… People repeating this bs from Gigguk in the comments.
