The man is laying down some facts. I've seen many documentaries where insiders have claimed you literally have to "bend over" to make it in the entertainment industry. This is especially true in the rap industry. They also make actors do embarrassment rituals such as playing parts in drag and whatnot. I totally buy it.

Depends on what you define as "the top". From what I understand, he was never a participant of that aspect of the industry. He was essentially just "punching in and going to work". He let his work speak for himself. He says that what is going on today in the industry has always been there. It is nothing new.
