Good video Jim you did a good job of explaining how the 4 way tool works for people that don't know.

I watched several videos about this 4-way tool, and none of them were able to give the proper use for the tapered part. The packet it came in doesn't explain anything and the previous videos either didn't cover it or incorrectly said it was for cleaning the inside threads, and I could see that wasn't right. So now I know it's a left-threaded easy out...thanks.

I have had this for a lot of years Works great to hold a valve stem on a tube from falling back into the rim and for pulling in a new valve stem

Awesome! I've watched 6 or 7 videos on these and you are the first to say what that reverse thread 4th end is for... makes sense now but I couldn't figure out what it did. Thanks for this Also the large thread tap can be used to pull a new stem through the hole.

I found your video while looking for information on changing the schrader valve and/or valve stem on liquid filled tractor tires. I mailed ordered one, it'll be here in a couple of days. Thanks, Jim, it's a good video.

Hey. I’ve never done this. Was looking to c what the heck this weird screwdriver was, or was it something my late husband made along the way to us having a small trucking company of 12 employees. And now I know what those teeny little pokey things are too. In a 20x60 full maintenance service, welding, fabrication and body work shop…. I’ve got a lot of stuff to identify and learn. Thank you for making this vid, love your channel name and you’re easy to follow especially with that nice voice of yours. New subscriber.

Should be noted in the last 10 years, they have stopped carrying the 4 way kits at local gas stations and truck stops. Which leaves autoparts stores and Walmart

Now if I could only find one that isn’t made of Chinesium and is actually machined properly like the one you have. Yeah the ones at Walmart and places like that are cheap, but you most certainly get what you pay for. I had a valve core break on one of the tires on my trailer for the garden tractor. These are old Sears tires (I think late 60s or early 70s) so I sure didn’t want to have to take them off of the rim as they are so dry rotted that I’m sure removing them will ruin them. So I get one of these 4 in 1 tools from Wally World. Yeah... that tapered reverse thread easy out part barely had any threads cut into it... So I try one I found at my local car parts store. While it was a little better it still couldn’t grip onto a thing. As I’m now getting rather annoyed I just go grab a new set of easy outs (let a friend borrow the set I had...and they conveniently forgot them at a job site overnight and some damn kids stole every tool that was there...what else can you do but laugh at this point lol) Well the easy out had that broken core out in the blink of an eye. It’s amazing how much difference there is between something made well vs something made cheaply Definitely going to keep an eye out for a good quality 4 in 1 lol Anyways, hope you got a kick out of my adventures with Chinesium 🤣

The cheap chinese versions that you buy at autozone should never be used for chasing threads. Tried twice, failed twice. Never again. I'll stick to my American made one which has proper tap flutes and isn't made out of a recycled paper clip.

I got a milwaukee version of the schrader tool and the schrader bit broke instantly 🥲 The schrader valve is quite stuck on the AC high side, probably from years of not being serviced. I put some pag oil inside the fitting and im letting it soak to see if that will unstick the valve from the aluminum line.
