Once the precession is stopped, how much torque does it take to keep the precession stopped? When the precession is prevented and the gyro is falling down, is the rate of the fall affected by the angular momentum of the gyro?

Can U make another one to show what happens when U (try to) turn a gyro/wheel, sideways, and what happens when U turn a fully gimbaled gyro thru full 360 degrees. I think U would need to color the gimbal halves and gyro sides differently and be able to show in which direction the gyro is spinning.

What do U mean by "If I try to spin it around this axis, I can raise or lower it"? If U are turning the vertical shaft, then why isn't the gyro precessing/turning? Why don't U show us what happens when U push the back end, of it, sideways.

The primary reason that motorcycles lean in turns is due to the tires being steered outwards from under the bike+rider, leaning the bike+rider inwards. The precession related effect during the initial counter-steering accounts for only about 10% of the roll torque that leans the bike. The issue with braking while turning is that the front tire's contact patch is offset to the inside, and braking will tend to further steer the front wheel inwards, and the rider has to oppose this with some opposing outwards counter-steering torque. Most motorcycles tend to straighten up when leaned, and a rider has to exert some outwards counter-steering torque to steer less inwards in order to hold a steady lean angle. While leaned, counter-steering still applies, steer inwards more to lean less, steer inwards less to lean more. For a rider used to counter-steering, braking in a turn will not be an issue, since the normal counter-steering reaction will allow a rider to hold the current lean angle steady while braking (the rider will also to reduce counter-steering torque when the rider stops applying the front brake).

END THE DEBATE! Stop wasting time! You can prove the Earth is not turning with a gyroscope. You should be able to see 1 degree every 4 minutes. Prove calibration by spinning it the other way.

In fact, we prove that with modern gyroscopes in aviation as all the navigation systems are based on that. How do you think in-flight gyroscopes work?

Hey dude… I just bought an attitude indicator and found that after 20 minutes of it running… it did not change 5 degrees. In fact there was no change at all. I know you commented a year ago on this video but I would like to ask some questions if you’re willing sir.

@@coryoconnell7339 hey man, may i ask u a question? if you start running it on vertical axis. then spin on a rope 0,5m-1m long around verical axis, so it will be spinning in the horizontal plane. will it change rotation axis? cause there will be v2/r = g if rope is horizontal. gyroscope remembers its starting axis or its relation to forces affecting it? it is interesting....

That is what it does, but it is not why it does it. A conservation "law" DOES NOT "cause" anything. IT IS A MNEMONIC DEVICE! Physics is loaded with these rote memory aids touted for causality. Angular momentum is a made-up concept that gathers all of the different momentums into one vector, so rote memory knuckle draggers can calculate "what it does," and they have NO CLUE "why" it does it. I have spent 20 years and nearly all of my sanity trying to get people to see the mechanism of it, but the "scientific method" of describing IT-ALWAYS-DOES-THAT with math is good enough for the crowd, so they don't get to really understand it. At this point, I don't think they can actually see cause due to the reliance upon mnemonic devices their entire career. It's all they know, so there is no gap. The use of angular momentum hides several different effects along with the one true causal mechanism of the gyroscopic effect, but they get the right answer, so it's all good for them, and they get to become "peer reviewers" for journals, so you don't get to see what I mean. Man is doomed, because I don't think it ends there. The gyro is a macroscopic toy!

Please elaborate. How is angular momentum not the why it does? Should it be 360 momentum? What would be a better name? Or what is your theory?
@jnhrtmn
@jnhrtmn 2 жыл бұрын
@@qwizdom3873 They tell you in physics that angular momentum is a summation of all the little linear momentums into a single vector, because it's easier, and it works. Then when this math works, cause is derived from that description. There is no cause in that. A cross product turns vectors at right angles for no reason, and that's why the right-hand rule is needed. The following statements walk right to the cause: A tilting plane is like a seesaw, and one end goes up while the other end goes down. These seesaw ends possess OPPOSING velocities that are normal to the plane. When the plane is a spin plane, mass is moving WITHIN this tilting plane, so mass must totally REVERSE its tilting end velocity condition with each HALF of a rotation to get to the other end. It totally resolves to acceleration INSTANTLY AND CONTINOUSLY the whole way around between the tilting ends as the tilt velocity condition is constantly reversing itself, and this acceleration is perfectly perpendicular to the spin plane. The amount of acceleration produced is determined by the spin rate which determines the rate that mass passes through the tilting fulcrum axis running through the diameter. Spin velocity is perpendicular to tilt velocity, so this rate is the ONLY ROLE that spinning plays. Acceleration affects the mass as a torque across the disk. Tilting is directional, and this acceleration production causes the disk to begin to steer into another tilt direction taking the acceleration production with it to the new tilt direction. It continues this steering until it reaches an equilibrium with whatever caused the tilting to begin in the first place. Equilibrium is the point where the fulcrum axis is aligned with force that caused the original tilt velocity. This video has it all explained with Engineering simulator software. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bc6JfciTqrivnHU.html

@@qwizdom3873 Sorry, I left out the key part that spin velocity and tilt velocity are perpendicular, so there is no reason to conserve spin momentum. Perpendicular vectors DO NOT affect each other. There is no need for this conservation law! It is a mnemonic device derived from a "description". Describing is not understanding. It is really scary to me that people cannot see this.

@@jnhrtmn Thank you. "Describing is not explaining". That's why math is useless of explaining anything. All physics does is say "here is gravity haha and this is the formula" but it never explains WHY
@jnhrtmn
@jnhrtmn Жыл бұрын
@@MacLuckyPTP Amen. People seem programmed to NOT see what you just expressed. The gyroscope is not 'caused' by angular momentum. I've known about the real mechanism of it for 20 years, and they will not publish it, because it opens the door that math can be right and wrong at the same time. My latest 2 videos show it. The production quality is hasty and sad, but they are true. You will understand a gyro beyond descriptions.
