He's done well for himself, 20 years and has made RSM. I've seen Full Sergeants and WO 2s in the Battalion I was in (2CG) back in the 70s with more service, so good on him.

Just curious to know why they are reffered to as 'Irish' guards when the work for the british crown, and more than likely refer to themselves as British. Its mad to see British soldiers who wouldn't call themselves Irish, fight for a regiment that portrays itself to be Irish, when they are British
@JasonBogues15 күн бұрын
@@Krispysquare and are they proud to be Irish? Do they stand with the Irish who were culturally trapped within their own land by British forces? Do they fly an Irish flag? The Irish army, who are enrolled across the island of Ireland, but train in the Irish Republic is filled with men and women proud to fight for their country, but we all know how throughout history, the Irish were hated by the British, so this is why I'm curious to know why the British army are calling a regiment Irish when they are British, I think history has pointed out enough now to show how manipulative and destructive your British army was.. Shame

Bitter boy Jason the lads that serve in the Irish Guards are proud soldiers who swear allegiance to HM the King and are justifiably proud to be a part of the British Army whilst still retaining their Irish roots. The Battalion also has English and Commonwealth representatives in the ranks. So give your head a little wobble and reset please.

* Sergeant=Sergeant Colour sergeant= Staff/Colour Sergeant WO2=Company Sergeant Major WO1=Regimental Sergeant Major (Garrison Sergeant Major is the highest rank for ceremonial Parades only and only London and Edinburgh have ones that I know of, A GSM is still a WO1 just higher than a RSM and for parades only)
