MÖ 13. yüzyılda Ege ve Doğu Akdeniz, dünyanın en gelişmiş uygarlıklarından bazılarının merkeziydi. Mikenler, Hititler, Mısırlılar, Mitanniler... Ancak 12. yüzyılın sonlarına doğru tüm bu uygarlıklar birer birer tarih sahnesinden silindi. Uzun bir süre bu çöküşün sebebi olarak “bilinmeyen bir yerden gelen barbarlar”ın, yani Deniz Kavimleri'nin göçü gösterildi. Peki kimdi bu Deniz Kavimleri? Neden göç etmişlerdi? Bugünle benzerlikleri neydi bu toplu göçün?
