When he starts slapping at around 1:20 he also starts playing slightly different notes. Instead of G Ab A Bb Ab Bb, he plays G Ab A Bb F Ab, which is incidentally how many beginners hear it when they learn it by ear. (Not saying he's a beginner though, he's obviously not, and he _did_ play it right at the beginning.)
