I really loved watching him at the AFA back then. My overall favorite was Martin however followed by R.L. then Dennis and Woody was awesome as well. Eddie was decent but when it came to flatland in 88, he seemed to of had issues. He was brilliant prior to 86 however. I rode for mcs back then but when Billy and Kevin was picked up by GT during their tour with Martin , Josh white and Brian scura, The mcs team was destroyed. Marlow went riding for the six flags theme parks much like Donnie Cook leaving the profile team to go ride for Sea World in California and I went off to college in 88 followed by marriage. It's a shame what I heard about Billy however being killed in desert Storm while fighting in Iraq. He was a champion on the bike while being a hero on the battlefield. As far as I know, Dennis still rides today but I have not seen any recent videos. Dennis was so very talented on the ramps. Who remembers his iconic well performed "look back X ups" ?

I rode bikes in downtown Kansas City in the 1980's. There was a kid there named Dennis McCoy. He was JUST beginning to get those skills sharpened. Then, a few years later... #1 BEST IN THE WORLD. YEAR AFTER YEAR. Thanks for putting this up!

Holy shittakes! I was just as excited watching this now as I was back then! Dennis was the man! He was definitely the flatland master! So fluid and smooth! He was untouchable! Just amazing!

@simom le In 1988, there was not a pro flatland rider remotely close to him. There was a large gap between him and the 2nd place pro flatlander. Please know what you're talking about before you try to srgue.

I have vid. from 87, at the master finals where he tied with R.L., and battled it out at the tie breaker. Yes, he was untouchable, but at the same event, an unknown rider was there, Kevin Jones, whom paved the way for alot of rolling tricks( I quit after that) and I have that footage also. I have so much video, also have Jessie Puente in 87, riding at the Socko event in Huntington Beach.

Dennis IS the Haro Master. Best overall rider I’ve ever seen. The kid had it all. He was flat only at first. One year I saw him start hitting the ramp in practice and the next year he came back blasting. That’s when I really saw how ugly goofy riders looked. (Todd Anderson, Tony Murray, and Ryan Nyquist excluded) It just looked more effortless and smooth regular. So being goofy and Dennis McCoy in 17X were what made me realize I was kicking a dead horse with the wrong foot. So I gave up on foolish dreams. Got in line. And obeyed. I kind of get the whole suicide bomber thing now.

dave mirra was a good flatlander but DMC in his time was a king, props to DMC and his consistency during those times. can't compare these 2 riders, they both come from different flatland scene's, mirra is a plywood hood and had kevin and chase as an inspiration.
@nuniyabizness27724 жыл бұрын
