I love this argument, it's a classic. "I refuse to debate anyone without an audience similar in size to what the billionaires I represent have poured money into acquiring for me. Sam is the host of possibly the most successful genuinely left wing political talk show on the internet. Prager's agenda and purpose is to brainwash ("groom" by the republican definition nowadays) fragile minds often belonging to children, and that does not involve or necessitate a debate that they wouldn't be interested in in the first place as its much easier to create a fluff piece of rewritten, whitewashed history than to actually painstakingly answer for historical events that happened that would prove otherwise.

I remember him literally saying that it would be one of the greatest honors of his life to talk to the parents who lost their children in Uvalde and explain to them why the country's current relationship with guns is not to blame for mass shootings. Thanks to this their followers minds are occupied by getting angry at their defamed "enemy", and by that point it would cause massive cognitive dissonance if they realized that the very guy that they adore, and who got them to be angry in the first place is also guilty, so most of the time their audience straight up ignores this fact (consciously or subconsciously).

Sam is a great debater because he is uniquely able to make the right explain to everyone why their views are ones decent, intelligent people are less likely to have. The point of a debate is NOT to convince people your opponent has bad policy prescriptions, because that is generally impossible. You are supposed to make your opponent look stupid, expose their hypocrisies, and make people hate them, all while trying to appear that you are simply curious and a little confused why they have the views they do. The goal is to ELIMINATE their views and make others ASHAMED to share them.

In just, the goal of the debate is to be charming while revealing fallacies in one’s argument making them and their ideologies look childish, foolish, and illogical. Hence why theist and libertarians have the hardest time in these debates.

This is so true. I got into politics mostly through the IDW and before I knew how bad their ideas were I would buy their story that no one will debate them. They know how insular their audiences are.

Why doesnt Sam Seder contact Dennis's people on air directly and ask for the debate. Dont use a clip of some other person doing it through Tim Pools channel. It sounds like both Dennis and Sam are playing victims in the game. Lot of people below mention Steve Crowder and Ben Shapiro - I can see those people debate often. So have Sam Seder step up. Post the source live on the air - make Dennis look bad we need this.

@@deresistance Sam literally called him out on Twitter. If Prager really doesn't know who Sam Sedar I think that's almost worse than him not wanting to debate him. As I say these are rhetorical debate offers only, they don't really want to debate. Crowder embarrassed himself to no end to avoid debating Sedar because he knew despite how bad he looks a debate would look worse.
