We tremendously appreciate all of your support over the years. The Folk Firearms Collective is a husband and wife team comprised of Denny Ducet and Alina Aldobrando. Our goal is to preserve the passion, art, culture and traditions of the blackpowder community and the adventurous history behind it. Should we fail to immerse ourselves and educate each other in this rich history, posterity will wither and cease, leaving the younger generations to never experience the joy of such times. Join us as we disconnect from all the modern noise and chaos.
To support our channel, please feel free to become a channel member and gain access to exclusive content. All proceeds go to powder, ball, and associated accoutrements featured in our videos.
We humbly thank the Flathead Valley Muzzleloaders Club for their dedication to this craft, the land on which we shoot, and most importantly-their willingness to partake in this preservation of history. Of all the folks we’ve been honored to spend time with, these gents and gals are the greatest of our friends. We are forever grateful for their influence and education in our own lives through the course of our traditional muzzleloading journey.

That was a very nice relaxing shoot. It's nice to have a shoot in the woods in the snowy winter, it makes one feel alive.

So glad you guys are posting again! I've been involved in black powder most of my life, but it was only 4 years ago that I got my first flintlock kit, your videos were some of the videos that convinced me I needed one. So much fun! The gun didn't turn out nearly as nice as a lot of the guns here, but it did lead to a second, and I'm looking at a third this year!

G'Day, A lot of beautiful looking firearms and gear as well as good company. This video has clinched it for me! 2023 is the year that I resurrect my muzzleloaders that haven't fired a shot in over 30 years. I have a Brown Bess and three Enfields ( Two smooth-bore 20 gauges and an Enfield musketoon ). I need to replace the powder horn that I foolishly sold when I stopped shooting muzzleloaders over 30 years ago. Thanks for posting this and your other videos. Cheers and watch your top knot! Steve

That gun from 1:50 to 2:40 or so is simply a work of art. I can't tell if that's silver inlay or just very finely painted lines. If that's inlay, I think it's the finest I've ever seen, it almost looks like hair it's so fine. Either way, the gun is a gorgeous piece of work.

Now I have to try the corn meal shot load in my fowler. Edit: tried it this morning. Kept everything "square", powder, corn meal, shot, all the same by volume. The only thing I did differently was I put a thin over shot wad between the powder and cornmeal. The difference on on target hits was amazing. Much better.

As Gene said, more shot, less powder works best. I'm going to try this when the weather warms. Gene was consistently busting clays at around fifty yards.

I absolutely love these videos. Seeing the kit, the comraderie and the wonderful atmosphere present at these shoots - it is all a joy to see. Putting it to great music and fine video work and it becomes a record of wonderful times, a tie linking the past to the present. I shoot Black powder with musket and rifle in the UK and this is the kind of shooting that I wish we did more of here. Thank you so much for creating your videos and sharing it with everyone online.

Another great video! That French fusil and the double flintlock shotgun are spectacular. Is the J. Henry rifle with the wrist repair an original? If it's a replica it's very nicely done. I live around an hour away from where the Henry of Boulton rifles were made in the 19th Century.
