That spacer used to ship with a radius light to limit downward movement of the lift arm so the light fixing wouldn’t punch a hole through the pump house cover. Its not a part normally included with that chair setup. The problem is now masked for the time being. Meshing with the gear on the potentiometer is a larger gear held in place by a grub screw expanding a center shaft inside the hex of a socket shoulder bolt which fixes the lift arm to the base of the chair. Prior to attempting any reset of the gear’s meshing or upper limit switch, it’s necessary to remove the larger gear and drive home the socket shoulder bolt with an impact driver or a hex key with the added leverage of a Crescent wrench to make sure the bolt holds tight for many more years. Once you’ve done that, you can be sure the upper limit switch setting you locked in will remain constant.

if that chair originally didn''t go down that much its obvius that there''s a limiter that doesn't work .could be a cut wire too.

Did you see the first videos? I tried all that. Adec said that the mechanical stop is the way. Pelton Crane and Marus chairs have soft limits, but not Adec. Thanks for watching!

So funny, I had an office recently that asked me to remove all those spacers because they wanted the chairs to go lower. I told them they could have issues with the rheostat hose hitting the safety plate. They insisted.

You could probably just cut them in half and hang onto the extras for your tool bag. The chair does go very low without it.

@@DentalEquipmentRepairChannel yeah not a bad idea, but you can also rotate the gear at the bottom of the chair so it touches the limit switch sooner. Right next to the potentiometer. Enjoy your videos man. Thanks for spending the time to post these.

@@vallejokid1968 I did that in the earlier videos but it did not work. I replaced the pot and adjusted it. The limit switch is only for the upper limit. I thought the same thing you are saying, but the spacer is the only way. Thanks for tuning in!

i think the problem is in the micro limit switch setting adjustment.

Thanks for your comment. The issue was related to the cylinder collapsing too far. There is a spacer made by Adec that I showed in the final video of the series.

something is wrong. the pistón must have a limit switch, not a mechanical stop
