Voice of Sephiroth here, thanks for uploading this! I appreciate seeing the honest feedback from a variety of people here believe it or not. Though let me clarify one thing right here and now, several members of the cast are also pro and semi-pro voice actors, not just amateur. If you love it, fine by me. If you hate it, fine by me. I always want to hear why on both fronts and everything in between.

Cloud's speech about Aerith not being able to express anything because she's dead is the saddest thing about grief, the thought of someone you love not being able to do the things you remember them for because they are gone is the scariest thing about losing someone....and I personally felt this as someone recovering from grief.

The voice acting is amazing given that this is a fan dub. You can tell they were taking this very seriously when they made this mod. This scene hits so much harder now that it's voice acted.

This scene gets you in the feels every time

Not sure if it is just me, but the voicing during the scene, the sounds before the falling of the materia, is disturbing this scene. The intensity of the scene was due to the pulsating music in the background that made me rather holding my breath, realizing what happened and then the repeated sound of the falling materia was taking me out of that shock moment. I felt this pulling out of shock was well paced and depicted without the sounds. Apart from that, the visuals and audio is gorgeous with these mods.

I'm dreading this scene in rebirth because they go so much deeper into Aerith's character in the remake. It's going to be a rough one.

The dub is surprisingly good, I've personally always considered American dubs very bad sounding, cause they always tend to sound more "cool" than emotional and emphatic, but here is a whole different story. The sadness can really be felt. Kudos

I just replayed this heavily modded with echo-s, the voice actors did an incredible job I have to say. I did see the new Aerith death scene from Rebirth, disappointed.

I always have seen this scene like: Sephiroth mime Thanos and says: "Fine,I'll do it Myself".

for those who want Cloud or Zack to save her for good, then you have to think that this is Part 2, and Part 2 usually ends in a cliffhanger tragedy, hence Aerith's demise, that will be the cathalist for Part 3 to happen, thus makes Cloud realize he's still human (in his words, his mouth is dry, his hands are trembling and his eyes are burning) thus wanting us to see Sephiroth dead for good

Wonder if the developer at that time think Sephiroth made a cool villain menacing victory pose but some people today would think he almost do a ultimate T-poss.

So the mod basically turns it from a PS1 game to a PS2 game. It's pretty cool, I might have to give the game a replay with it. Whenever I see this scene in the OG version, it makes me dislike what they did in Rebirth more. I just wish we could have the raw emotion that comes with loss present in the Remake trilogy.

like this from the fact its actual turn based and not the nonstop og style that could get frustrating, always thought this should have been turn based, and the new models make things look crisper, but the new sound effects are a bit lacking, missing some of the tones it had, and theyre not as impactful

I dont have a problem with the Remake or Rebirth. But why its going to take 12 years to remake a game from the 90s. I honestly would have loved to all of the game in one go. Its going to be a long 4 years and even longer for Dirge of Cerberus Cerberus.

Cloud's VA is an absolute ham and the result is terrible. Even at his most emotional, Cloud's voice should still have that distinct flat monotone that rarely raises in pitch.

Voices are great, models are cool but sounds are way off... OG Ifrit sounds waay better, only aqualung and sounds of blades (Climhazzard are cool). In general, well done😉

I’m so mad at OG FF7 for spoiling the Remake

I love FF7 since PS1 in the 1997 and tried some mods... it is not so easy have the correct better performance without losing the real feeling. This extreme mods I think not so good. ... seems like a parody, similar to smartphone games you can see on daily spam banner: colorful, fluid but with poor "statis animations" and.. no heart, style. Some scene worked good with their style, it could be good "clean" the pixels for HD but I can't see a "realistic model" of the chara, in a scale who can't have sense with the field area or with a draft expressivity... SuperDeformed models, expecially the PS1 version, doesn't have so many expression but it was better. Their expressivity was in the simple but significative animations. If "you" want to put a textured "realistic" expression, then "you" need to realize VERY WELL, otherwise characters seems only a cool wooden puppet.. another bad thing: Cloud model in this mod has always the sword... so... why would he pick up the sword from the ground when he already has it on his back? 😀 Original models doesn't have by default the sword on the back and when he "pick up" the sword, it's always in particular scene like in front ShinRa building the first time... to hit Aerith now... and so on. That's my personal opinion of course ;-)

This is literally all we were asking for when we asked for a remake. You see that light reflection from the materia when it bounces away from Aerith? The new game has nothing. We're in an era with the most advanced lighting systems in games, and a PS5 FF7 game has a white ball with no shadow and no reflection of light for their white materia

I really hope this will NOT happen again in FF7 Rebirth next month.
