Denver Post Cheyenne Frontier Days Train 2015

The 24 th Annual Denver Post Cheyenne Frontier Days Train departed right on time Saturday, July 18, 2015. The Union Pacific E 9's and the Centennial starting from the York St Crossing in Denver thru Greeley. 2nd location is Sand Creek, 3rd is at Henderson running at speed across 124th Ave.to E470, 4th clip is north of Brighton rolling by Vestas notice the windmill train on the siding. 5th is just south of Platteville where we were stopped by the light. 6th leaving La Salle across the Platte River and thru Evans. 7th finds us rolling by the Greeley Station & hear that leslie horn echo through out the town! The final clip the E-9's and the Centennial take the highball out of town headed for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. Definitely come to the US and visit Cheyenne in May for the model railway club expo and roundhouse tour and in July the have the steam engines run from Cheyenne to Denver and back. it's am amazing site and even better if you can afford ticket to ride the train. I've done it twice! :D

Union Pacific always does a wonderful job with not only its engines but also its Rollingstock. To see it and compare to the Daylight even. I really wish they would do a full train for the Daylight but that isnt UP anyway. Its to bad the UP dosent buy a couple of those other engines and do that for them. Would be fitting since they do own the SP.

why so many cars and observation cars? it's not like they are going a long distance. plus amtrak is shorter than this train.

hmm nice they have the big one running, but it takes all those diesles to run 20 cars? really one of the steamers I am sure could do it solo, well heck its a respectable size train at 20 cars, but they say the npk 765 pulled 34 up the new river train and its only 4000 hp, I am sure given the chance one the challenger class, the big boy, or nw 1218 could pull even more but they say the 34 cars on those runs on the new river were the longest excursion trains ever pulled in the post steam era, I would think there would have been more but this is as I have heard the record, but I will ask in person next time I get the chance to ask the people of the fwrhs to see if this is as far as they know true.
